A Must for For Alessio Orano Fans
greenronnyg9 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I guess you could say I'm a fan of the actor Alessio Orano. I've seen him in so many giallos on DVD, so I wanted to watch some of his other work as well. There's not a lot out there so I'm grateful for the people who post his movies on youtube. Yes, I watched this on youtube, and it was in Italian. Since I only speak English, I had to watch it with subtitles translated into English. Not the best way, but better than nothing I guess. I think I still got the gist of it. Alessio plays Giorgio (George in English), a gambling man. When the show opens he is at the dog racetrack. Later, at the men's club, an elderly acquaintance of his gives him an envelope filled with a large sum of money (to deliver to someone for him?) Giorgio takes the money but has other plans in mind. He rushes over to the racetrack to place a bet but he is to late. The races have already begun. While driving somewhere, he sees an attractive woman named Barbara pulled over on the side of the road with a flat tire. He offers to fix it for her. She invites him over to a party at her house that evening, and introduces him to an older gentleman named Seganti. In a private room, Giorgio partakes in a high stakes poker card game, and starts gambling away his money. He ends up losing all his friends money to Seganti. As Giorgio drives away, Barbara and Seganti seem to get a kick out of his situation. I guess it was all a trick, and they were pulling a fast one on him. *Spoiler alert* In the end, Seganti is involved in a terrible car accident. Giorgio just happens to be on the scene. He pulls Seganti from the wreckage and drives him to the hospital and drops him off. When he returns to his car, Giorgio discovers the envelope filled with money. Must have fallen out of the Seganti's jacket. Giorgio is happy and drives away. The ending was a bit of a let down. This was a 30 minute episode of an Italian TV series. It was supposed to be a thriller. I was expecting an ironic ending or a strange twist, but that did not happen. Nevertheless, I was just grateful to be able to watch Alessio's performance. He made the show for me. I also recognized actor Massimo Serato (Seganti) from quite a few movies and TV shows.
