Beware Arnold Benedict
JordanThomasHall5 June 2019
Pruett has placed all his trust in a gypsy fortune telling machine that warns, "A stranger will enter your life today. Beware of him." Englishman Arnold "Arnie" Benedict soon arrives to join the group of counselors, bunking with Pruett. Wivenhoe explains that Arnie is considered the top camper in America and is signed to be there for three months to shape up the counselors. The sheriff arrives on behalf of the farmers hoping Wivenhoe will sell them access rights to run their cattle to the lake for water. Wivenhoe turns down the business proposition, but cattle in the back of the sheriff's truck reveals Arnie is allergic to animals. Arnie quickly puts down the counselors and works them hard, along with Wivenhoe. Arnie imposes a 9:00 curfew, the last straw for the counselors to threaten to quit. Even young camper Norton tries to mail himself home. Pruett goes back to the fortune telling machine for an answer. It gives Spiffy the idea to have Wivenhoe fake his death to nullify the contract. The efficiency expert holds strong and sees through Wivenhoe posing as a ghost. He's now more determined than ever to stay, but the men are equally determined to find a way to be rid of him.
