Michael Jackson was filmed at the Musée Grévin in 1997 on the occasion of the inauguration of his wax statue. The star had insisted on paying tribute to Marcel Marceau, from whom he had borrowed his famous moonwalk.
The prologue filmed in 1964 by editor Christian Gaudin was not retained for the DVD version.
The film, completed in 1964, was never shown due to a disagreement between Dominique Delouche and the producers. In 2015, the director filed a lawsuit for restitution of rights. After winning the trial, Dominique Delouche undertook to reconstruct the film, whose different parts were scattered in several laboratories. Finally, Doriane Films provided a DVD release of the hitherto unseen film in 2017.
