This film is about the history of Floyd's Fork of the Salt River in Kentucky. Included is the history of the Louisville Water Company, the Metropolitan Sew District (MSD), and even the "Parklands of Floyd's Fork." This film was produced while I was attending Tulane University: School of Public Health: THE CENTER FOR APPLIED ENVIRONMENTAL PUBLIC HEALTH. The film was produced while the expansion of the park system was underway and this tour was given on a TARC Trolley so that the formal presentation could be heard as the 20-minute trip took place. The new park system is over 20-linear miles long inside of Jefferson County, KY, but the steam is about 67-miles long and it goes through 5-Kentucky counties. Floyd's Fork of the Salt River runs through Henry, Oldham, Shelby, Jefferson, and Bullitt Counties in Kentucky where the confluence is with the Salt River at Shepherdsville, Kentucky. Canoeing/Kayaking is possible during the rain season. Newer boat ramps are being established along the "Parklands of Floyd's Fork" that greatly assist paddlers. The 20-mile linear park system is positively amazing. This video helps to convey some of the changes over the last couple hundred years leading to the fall 2012 in association with the Historic Properties of Kentucky, Inc. and the Kentuckiana Cinematography Club (KCC).
