Well, this does not happen a lot cause I like a lot of movies, low and high budget. But this one is not even worth your time, graphics wise.

It starts of as the usual tornado movie but for some reason the acting was bad from the start and didn't get better at all. Most of the actors tried to do their best but for some reason it just didnt work.

Apart from that the CGI is so bad... man, in almost all shots where you see something happening with nature it just looks fake. To bad cause I was really waiting for a good new disaster/tornado movie, but this is definitely not it. Spend your time on something else ;)

One of the only reasons to write a review of this film at all is to note that, according to IMDb, this is Anne Heche's last released feature. For me, she brought a realism to her role as a mother to Will, a teenaged boy whose father was killed in a tornadic storm ten years previously to the main story -- we find this out in the first ten minutes of the film, so this is not really a spoiler. She and her husband were storm chasers who apparently, became reckless after doing it for a number of years and Will's father's death was the result. Now, she is very protective of her only son and doesn't want him following in his father's footsteps. Of course, if he doesn't, we really don't have much of a movie.

Daniel Diemer plays Will, the son, and is good in the role, although probably because of the seriousness of his character, comes off as a little "one note" throughout. I hadn't seen him in anything before, and almost called him "newcomer," but he's apparently been around in the acting world since 2016, so he's not really inexperienced. Skeet Ulrich gave a fine performance in his role as a former partner of Will's dad in the storm chasing business. Alec Baldwin played what he seems to always be playing these days, a gruff, know-it-all, who is set up throughout the script for the comeuppance. Jordan Kristine Seamón as Will's sort-of love interest, should probably have been given more to do. She was good in the portions of the film she was in, but her character seemed like an afterthought, like maybe she wasn't in the original draft of the screenplay.

All in all, not a bad film necessarily, but sort of dull considering the subject matter. It didn't have the energy of "Twister," but seemed to be the film it was emulating. Low budget or not, if the story isn't compelling enough, it's not going to work. "Supercell" is watchable., I mean it's not bad like Asylum-level filmmaking or the Sci-Fi Channel, but I'm not wholeheartedly recommending it. It's a good film to stream on a Saturday afternoon when the weather is bad, and you aren't going to do anything else.

Not sure what many of these reviewers were watching but I found this movie pretty good. One of Anne Heche's final roles before she lost her life in a tragic wreck (may she Rest In Peace.) As for the rest of the cast Skeet Ulrich was very good as a storm chaser driver, Alec Baldwin just can't play the bad, the rest of the cast were pretty good. The actor who plays the son Daniel Diemer was ok but a different actor may have helped. As for the s/f they were within budget and with that were good.

This movie however wasn't based on tornadoes but a son trying to get to know his father who was a victim of a tornado seen at the beginning. His mother would be forever happy if he'd (her son) would give up chasing tornadoes. I think this movie did a fine job in not only telling a story but offered some form of suspense along the way. Movie was made more or less like "The Core" very story driven.

With a limited budget the director (still very unknown and new) did a great job in getting this movie made. Having a few big names in it didn't hurt any. If you like story driven movie's then this one would be great, if all you want is CGI and explosions well guess you won't like this movie then.

You know not a bad movie. It could be better but as an independent film not bad. It's worth the watch. Fun to see Alec and Anne. Cinematography was decent and visually some nice shots. Acting was good in spite of some of the strange plot choices. The uncle would never have left his nephew behind at the deli given the relationship and responsibility. That was an odd choice. Rather predictable in some spots. We all knew what was going to happen to the Alec Baldwin character. There could have been at least a little tension built in there. Overall the script was decent and believable and not too hokey.
