The adaptation from book was okay
FSMeurinne29 May 2020
The adaptation from the book was good, however I think the story line was good, the details where there, cinematography and direction where good, however I didn't feel the chemistry and emotions I thought I would from the book descriptions. The story however is one very good to read, yet is good to watch at least once.

Brenda Jackson romance brought to life by Passionflix
cgvsluis5 October 2022
This is based on the first novel of Brenda Jackson's Granger Series about the Granger family, consisting of three brothers and their falsely accused and incarcerated father. The first book and this film focus on the eldest son Jace's story.

When their grandfather has a heart attack, all three brothers return home to be with him before he passes. They make a deathbed promise to him to save the family business, Granger Aeronautics. Once they arrive it is clear that nefarious things are going on at the company and they need to hire expert help. This is where Shana comes in. Shans and her team get to the bottom of the traitorous goings on and help the brothers right the ship of their company...all while having a fierce attraction to Jace, which goes against her non-fraternization policy at work. Unable to control themselves Jace and Shana eventually agree to a secret affair outside of work. But they have both been burned before and when a woman arrives from Jace's past and Shana gets some unexpected news...will they be able to build a romance?

Sexy and pretty true to the source material (I applaud Passionflix for that!). The film, like the book, does a lot of teasing for future stories. The other two brothers and their father's stories are heavily foreshadowed in Jace and Shana's story. So much so it gives the film version an unfinished feeling. Like what happened to the rest?

I am just thrilled that Passionflix is picking up and bringing to life these highly popular romance stories. This one was not my favorite...but I love the idea and I really have loved a bunch of their other films...Driven, Dirty Sexy Saint, The Will, Gabriel's Inferno, Afterburn/Aftershock, The trouble with Mistletoe, Matchmaker's Playlist and Resisting Roots! So, I want to be encouraging and supportive while at the same time saying this wasn't my favorite but I think it was more source material not direction or acting (which the acting was good and I really liked the two main characters).

Nice eye candy
billyogden-4925319 October 2019
The eye candy for over the top, however one of the worst productions I have seen in years. Who ever is behind this need to start over, not a bad story line, but horrible production. Don't waste your time.

Refreshing!
irisbolling6 October 2019
Oh my goodness! It was refreshing to see a movie that follow the book as it was written. It was refreshing to see African Americans portrayed in positive roles. It was refreshing to Black Love. The characters appear to be falling in love right before our eyes. The chemistry was pretty good.Congratulations to Brenda Jackson and Tosca Musk for producing an enjoyable love story for all to see. Looking forward to Caden's story, A Man's Promise.

Unanswered questions
evd-0722620 June 2020
The ending of this movie was horrible. Too many unanswered questions. They should've left out some of the love scenes to tie up the loose ends at the end and answer the question about who killed the mother. The acting was subpar and the movie looked Low budget D movie material. The storyline was all over the place. I would not recommend this movie. 👎🏽

If you like Brenda Jackson novels, you'll love this movie!
tiffaneyp27 October 2019
Truthfully, I had low expectations for this movie; but it was good! It may not receive the notoriety of the 50 Shades franchise, but Brenda books and now movies are equally as entertaining. I hope they make some of the Westmoreland books into movies next!

Left confused
viviankhizkial6 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Not sure if this is supposed to be a love movie or an investigation movie left with a lot of unanswered' questions regarding the father who is in jail who supposedly killed the mother they drag too much with too many love scenes that why i got confused what angle they playing at and they didn't get to the end I was really interested in seeing if the father gets out of jail and was a bit of a choppy ending with too many and unanswered questions regarding the father who killed the mother apparently. And the other brother who likes the sister but they're never showed if they ever got to meet again. Just left confused.

I have to say, I read all 3 of these books and yes this one does drag out b/c it's the first one in the series. I really hope they film the last 2, they are so good and it'll be interesting to see how they put the story on screen.

Hits the mark
fmoran10296 October 2019
It's not often that a movie stays true to the book and hits ALL the best scenes and lines This was does that for sure. Jeremy Batiste and Celestine Rae do an admirable job portraying these serious type characters. Supported by Michael Marcel and Robert Christopher Riley, the movie pulls off the comedic scenes while keeping pace to tell all the key points of this love story/murder mystery that has 3 main points. Tosca Musk is working hard to ensure Passionflix honors the genre it represents. Thank you Brenda Jackson for this story and Passionflix for bringing it to screen.

SIZZLING!!!!!!
eharris25916 October 2019
You will be just as enthralled with the movie as you are with the book. This movie has suspense, comedy and hot, sizzling love scenes that will keep you greatly entertained. To get the best understanding from the movie I recommend that you read the book first. Mrs. Jackson has done it again.

I have watched this movie 4 times since it's debut! The cast brought Brenda Jackson's book to life. The brothers are also super fine that also matches their characters in the book. The cinematography is also amazing. Job well done for the entire cast, Brenda Jackson and Passionflix. I look forward to seeing the entire series on Passionflix.

This movie was right on point with the book. Mrs Jackson and Tosca did a great job bringing this story to life, Love, romance, passion, suspense all tie-up in one. Can wait for the the other 2 books to be made into movies. Jeremy Batiste, Micheal Marcel and Robert Christopher Riley portrayed that brotherly bond through the movie. Celestine Rae brought Shana to life. Great Job Excellent movie!!!!!!
