every episode, a new low is reached...

Every episode, a new low is reached. Yeah, the fans of this show (who no doubt sleep in coffins and only come out in the pitch-black of darkest midnight) would cackle endlessly at my observation. I wouldn't doubt that there are strange people out there with odd desires regarding having their bodies modified, but after well nigh the full six seasons, one gets heartily sick and tired of the show GIVING A VOICE to these mad little critters. Plastic surgery HAS a place in society, it should be there when it needed, for VICTIMS... but the "recreational" off-hand use of the practice, simply to satisfy every mad little whim, by people who surely cannot have an iota of respect for their own flesh, must surely be condemned.

Okay, so this is a TV show. It's only a story. But years from now, people might still act on impulses implanted watching this show. This episode, in particular, has a totally deplorable sub-plot of a young woman who is blessed by nature, but longs to have the work of nature undone, so that she could embody a purified version of herself, sexless.

Very dangerous theme, for Americans with the means at their disposal, in particular. One day in 2027 or so, on the New Revived Jerry Springer show, we'll hear 'em whine, "I saw it on NIP/TUCK..."

I'm just saying. Sick world doesn't need more sick notions.

But it's only a TV show.

Okay then, forget about the realities of the real world. Judge it as a TV show.

Here goes:

Fun and entertainment. Mr. Ryan Murphy, do you consider this particular episode fun and entertainment?

Even I have to relent. I must admit that I was way impressed by Sean's pro-sex speech, the show's BULL DURHAM moment, and just now had all my preparations ready to post it as a Quote, but somebody had beaten me to it. So, read it here, and, yes, there IS something of value in this episode after all, but...

...one feels really dismal after watching such... ick.
