Don Goodman practically did everything for the film, as he wrote, directed, edited and produced it. It's a strange but sweet little comedy about a very lonely lady who is in a nursing home. Unlike the other residents, no one comes to visit her and she's given up hope that her son will even call her. So, on a lark, she comes up with a bizarre scheme--to rob a store and get arrested so that her son will FINALLY come to visit her. However, he plan doesn't go exactly as planned and it ends on a rather sweet note.
For Goodman to have done so well with this film is impressive, as this was his first time in most of these roles. It also helped that he had excellent acting from a couple of very familiar faces. Angela Paton plays the lady and while you may not recognize her name, you've probably seen her as she's a very prolific supporting actress (with credits such as THE WEDDING SINGER, GROUNDHOG DAY and in dozens of different TV shows). In addition, late in the film, Dean Jones makes a surprise appearance and it's nice to see him after a rather long absence from the screen.
Overall, clever and sweet.
