A Worthy Sequel
michael-0431316 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I understand that many people do see this as season 11-onwards, however I see this as a sequel. March of the Oni ended a legendary ten-season (or three, if you don't count the whole series as one arc) story arc, bringing the Garmadon saga to a close. This "new" show is just a continuation in continuity, but the story and arc are fresh and new, with new beginnings. It is sad to see the Hagemans leave, the I believe the new writers have succeeded in proving their worth. The only reason I give it a 9, is because nothing is perfect.

The Fire/Ice chapter were an excellent start, story wise. Fire Chapter: If anyone forgot we were watching Ninjago, have no fear, just watch out for snakes and you'll know soon enough, because they're back... again. This story did help to cement this new arc in the world of Ninjago, all thanks to the serpentine. Aspheera was a decent villain, showing that it is still not wise to trust a snake you have never met. Ice Chapter: This was a refreshing setting, due to not having many snowy biomes on Ninjago, with the introduction of the Never-Realm. The plot twist with Zane was well done, with Lloyd's second-maybe-perhaps-love-interest introduction, Akita (he really is a teenager). All in all, I was happy it was not a reboot for Ninjago, and continued in cannon with Masters of Spinjitzu. I also appreciate how each episode had a focus ninja, rather than a single ninja focus for the entire season. The relationships between Jay and Nya, and Zane and Pixel were continued and developed, with good character development for Cole, Kai, and Lloyd. Sensei Wu on the other hand, is not done justice. It appears that he is undergoing a late-life crisis. Wu is either overly angry and short tempered with the ninja, or he is timid and unsure of himself. Wu was the brother of one of the greatest threats Ninjago ever faced, a son of the first Spinjitzu Master, saved Ninjago countless times, fell through time and grew up al over again, trainer, advisor, and bond that keeps together the 6 ninja whose personalities clash more than the Beatles, and he has an existential crisis? A little unbelievable guys.

However, my dislikes are in part the writing, and the production. Story wise, the new timeslots demand a new episode format (11 minutes instead of 20) which hurts the progression of the story, but not entirely, and it gives the show new side stories to explore (the News Never Sleeps was one of my favourite episodes). The new animation style is a little more cartoony, and dare I say, less realistic? I understand it's Lego, (not realistic) but the movement and anime-fast-attack backgrounds in fight sequences are a little hard to get used to. New team, so it's understandable, and I'm slowly getting used to it. But, the character and object textures are glorious, such detail has never been seen on any Ninjago media beforehand.

There are problems with it, but none of them are critical blows to the show, and they are forgotten (except Wu's late-life crisis) easily. Another setback is the passing of Kirby Morrow, who lent his voice talents to the character of Cole and may other background characters. It is unfortunate that the Master of the Mountain was the only spotlight season for Cole compared to the other ninja. His death will leave hole in the show which will not be easily mended. This new chapter has a high bar to clear if it is to meet the standard of quality we have been used to, but from what I've seen it's already on it's way, and I can't wait for more!

laurielovesninjago9 March 2022
Ninjago's animation is not liked by many, but in my opinion it is amazing I love the cartoonious if that is a word. I just have one complaint, why is it a different show to ninjago masters of spinjitzu ?

Best show ever

Warning: Spoilers
Can't be any better episode 12 was really good. I like how in episode 12 zane was switching between himself and the ice emperor. Episode 17 is also really good. I like how it was in order to achieve dragon form you must jump up, kick back, whip around and spin. The final episode is really good, except I would prefer Lloyd having his oni form longer. In episode 18 when they're rebuilding the monastery you can see it takes five new ninjas to put up a light if you look closely. The start to the entire season is also really good. If you remember well the ending song for episode 18 is actually a song in the series that a girl named Sally who appeared before wrote. I also like fuji dove, I think he's a really funny character.

This isn't a different show.....
samhbricks9 February 2021
This isn't a different show from Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, the name was just changed a little. Anyway, I encourage anyone reading this to try it, (especially the newest season Master of the Mountain) you won't regret it.

Basically Ninjago Masters of Spinjitzu (2011-) seasons 11-13
thatcherking18 November 2020
Lots of people say they don't like this show, probably because they have not watched season 13 or (season 3), but in my opinion, this show is amazing! The characters are interesting and fun, and it has a great story. I'm glad they did not end the series at season 10 because prime empire and master of the mountain are some of the best ninjago seasons ever! This is the best lego show ever!

Worthy follow-up to a legendary show.
bilisyt26 January 2020
2019 was such a wild year for Ninjago but of all the things that could happen no one expected a second show! While writing this review, only one season has come out and it had a mostly negative reception. However, I am very positive about the direction they are going. The first season showed us that the writers are skilled and that the new production company offers many resources that can help on expanding the show's universe. The only thing I personally don't like is the switch to an 11-minute format. Even though it allows as to explore different sides of the story and enables us to see through the side characters' point of view of, it does limit creativity on the main storyline. I feel like the first season was more of a test-run anyway so I hope they learn from their mistakes and manage to make a show that pleases all fans of Ninjago, old or new. Can't wait to see what the show has to offer!

Greatest LEGO Show
cpfrezza-234785 November 2020
Having been a fan of this show since it all started back in 2011 I have had no reason to dislike it for any reason, sure there are occasional goofs in the story or animation but the team behind this show is amazing. Props to Bragi Schut for following in the footsteps of the Hageman Brothers and making the show even better than before and the voice actors for having amazing chemistry and make the show great. Most shows loose momentum and run out of ideas but Ninjago is not those shows the new seasons are just as fresh and fun as the Masters of Spinjitzu era. "Go Ninja Go!"

Great Season!!!!! Definitely Recommend.
orangeloop-5351217 March 2021
The season is so amazing, worthy of watch, some may argue it is not really a season, but it was very fun to watch even if it was just 45 min. Think of it as a ninjago special. Amazing. Great Plot.

Pretty Decent; Episodes are Mixed Up!
anidiot-870892 December 2022
This page has episodes from both "Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu" (2011) and the newer "Ninjago". Please fix this! As for the actual "Ninjago" show, the short runtime episodes hurt the story's pacing and the writing has really taken a turn for the worse, especially in the first season. You'll have moments where characters summarise the plot of a whole previous episode followed by several quick cuts to different parts of a sort-of complex story. It feels like it's imitating the structure of Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu without the time needed to actually have it work. Honestly, aside from a few callbacks to old villains and plot points, this could be its own show entirely separate from Ninjago's brand. There are barely any ties to Masters of Spinjitzu and nothing that's really built upon from its conflicts. The characters are shown to be the "same" but share very little traits with their older counterparts, and this show seems to be heading in its own direction in terms of building upon what they do have. Losing the connection to Masters of Spinjitzu, this show is actually pretty decent. Though the first season feels like plot all crammed into an eleven-minute runtime, the remaining seasons seem to find a nice groove that can be quite charming; in fact, I would have probably enjoyed it very much as a kid. LEGO Ninjago will always hold a special place in my heart, so I hope this series can do it justice moving forward.

Warning: Spoilers
Zane a robot ? Hmmmm I don't think so ? Recently found out that the plot of blade runner was stolen from lego ninja go ?? Wtf that's actually crazy. Blade runner see u in court luv x

I have malaria and the doctors don't think I'm gonna make it. I haven't spoken to my family in years. My dying to wish is to let them know how much I love lego ninja go (and that I'm dying maybe). I haven't made any significant contributions to society, so my last effort is to write this review.

This is the Definition of Milking, Ninjago should've ended with Season 10
rayensleimi-2563912 February 2021
Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu is a legendary series and will go down as one of the finest cartoons of the last decade, it had beautiful visuals, amazingly animated fight scenes, brutal risks that make you surprised and forget that it's a kids show, fantastic and extremely relatable and engaging characters, fantastic concepts, it was basically a proof that even a Lego Advertisements can be this matter, dark, and fantastic, those 10 seasons and 100 episodes are awesome and connect to each other very well, they told everything we had to know about the series, from the point when that universe was created to the very end, it developed all 6 ninja to the fullest degree finishing their arcs, the show was a huge hit and it accomplished everything it was supposed to do and even more, and instead of ending this show with its 10th season as it's the point where the show is at it's peak and the point where the lore, history, characters and ideas where developed to the fullest degree, they instead decided to create this trashy series that had no purpose This new series is not Ninjago and I'm more than happy that they separated it from Master of Spinjitzu cuz it's no where near the same level and it shouldn't even exist, I'd even like to believe that it's non-canon, season 1 is one of the worst pieces of media that I've ever watched In my life, the new 11 Minutes format is god awful and there's no way they can do a good job with it, it makes everything rushed as heck, the new animation sucks, all you say is floppy and stretched bodies and weapons, everything dosent look realistic like how it did in Masters of Spinjitzu, instead it looks super cartoonish and boring, the season is also extremely childish, generic and cliché, the ninja became one-dimensional characters and your generic cliché heroes of the day after how unbelievably deep and complex they were In Masters of Spinjitzu, the villains suck and the concepts are just copying from Masters of Spinjitzu, season 1 is just terrible, it destroyed the ninja team and made them feel like strangers, but it also has an extremely non interesting and boring and slow story that dosent make you excited at all, and the crazy amount of cringe, let's skip season 2 cuz it's the finest one In this series, Season 3 is also pretty bad, it has the same issues as season 1, a very non interesting story and ripping off stuff from Masters of Spinjitzu but of course, the way worse version, the ninja other than Cole were extremely annoying and shallow, the villains are boring and cliché, so is the season, Cole was the only good aspect of this season, season 2 is the only thing that didn't suck, I like the videogame idea, whole it would've been so random for Masters of Spinjitzu, other than the videogame idea itself and how well done it was and the great amount of easter eggs and references, this season sucked In everything else, terrible villain, very rushed story, the ninja are extremely shallow and stupid, bad animation, and more issues, season 4 is coming in a few months, im not excited at all but I hope that it's not as bad as the first 3, so yeah, that's all, Masters of Spinjitzu is an amazing show, but this sequel shouldn've not existed and Season 10 would've been the perfect finale, I would rate Masters of Spinjitzu 9/10, but this new series 3/10 is more than enough

As good as Masters of Spinjitzu. Crystallized and Master of the Mountainwas my most FAVORITE season. But I have a question, why is Ninjago totally insecure then Power Rangers?
zanimdb-0297025 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
In the show Masters of Spinjitzu, Lloyd was still growing up as the Green Ninja, Nya in Season 5 was still learning how to control her water powers. And the first two seasons, it's to much to do with snakes. Masters of Spinjitzu seasons 8 to 9 were okay. But when I saw this Ninjago, I fell in love with this version. Prime Empire, Uncharted, and Seabound were the BEST Ninjago seasons of this show!

A timeless classic...
atulsnair3 March 2023
My favorite character is Dareth, the brown ninja. I find that he is an inspiration to all of humanity, and I love him. For generations, I will worship him. God speed. I hope I got accepted into Dareth's Dojo.

Ninjago saved my life. Before I watched ninjago, I was broke living under an overpass and my wife left me. Now, I live in a mega-mansion and have numerous Lego Ninjago sets. In fact, the entire mansion was made out of Lego. No, I did not test the building for earthquakes. That is how much faith I have in Lego and Ninjago now. I believe that Cole will protect me from all earthquakes, considering that he is the Earth Ninja.

Great Show
alectseng1 March 2023
My personal favourite show of all time, seasons 12, 13 and 14 are not to be missed. This is the second reboot of the show which follows the same continuity. It has plenty of character development and a strong plot in each season, and every season feels like a new breath of fresh air. I encourage anyone and everyone to watch this because it is simply a really good show. It focuses on characters' personalities, teamwork, relationships, and a lot of other relatable topics that really anyone can enjoy. Despite the fact that this show is mainly targeted to children, I believe that even adults can enjoy this show for what it is.

cute tv show
cedricvdh-4157315 March 2023
This tv show is quite fun. I find that for a kid under 5, its a little rough but fun. Every one can watch the show, there is a lot of suspense and action. Its fun to see the ninja fight as a team. One of my favourite charater is Zane, altough i really hate Harumi, she's one of the meanest villain and that's what i like. My favourite vilain in the show is prince (king) Kalmaar. My favourite episode is the last episode of seabound which contains king Kalmaar and Benthomaar. I also really like Nya. The Jaya relationship is so freaking cute. I find that Jay and Nya are so cute together. I hope the show will continue runninng because it is fun for some guys like me.

Great show
sevenfourseven-74710 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This second era of Ninjago was very great and enjoyable. However, the new animation style, and the 11 minute long episodes did not sit well with me, and I think the story did not progress as well. Wildbrain did do a fine job, but i still like the WilFilm seasons better, especially 8 and 9. The final season, Crystalized, left a bad taste in my mouth, as it did for many other Ninjago fans. The story just did not sit well, and it ruined multiple important character arcs that already had perfect endings (examples: Nya, Harumi, Overlord). The episodes are still enjoyable, however, and I think Seabound is the best season Wildbrain has produced. The music by Jay Vincent, Michael Kramer, and The Fold are exceptional as always, and really carry the show. Overall, solid second era of Ninjago, 7/10.

Should have stopped after 10
dshayani10 September 2020
This show is an unnecessary continuation of the beloved series. I don't understand all of the 10/10 reviews here. The show downgraded nearly every aspect of itself including animation, writing, characters, story, and nearly every other component. Season 10 was a perfect send off to the show and the fact that is what came after it is so disappointing.

Masters of Nincompoopjitzu! 😡
a34trgv121 August 2023
Back in 2011, Cartoon Network had the privilege of distributing a cartoon produced by multi-billion dollar toy company, Lego. That cartoon was Ninjago, which was pitched as an action packed show full of ninjas, snake people, dragons, and so much more. The show I made myself stomach through, though, was NOT as cool as the pitch lead me to believe. Instead of a fun cartoon with memorable characters, intense action and exquisite animation, what we have here is yet another disaster of a cartoon that fails not just as basic entertainment, but also as a commercial that does this brand of Lego justice.

Concocted in 2009, the show was developed by 19 people. No I'm not making this up. This show was developed by Thomas Sørensen, Tommy Andreasen, Thomas Kristensen, Simon Lucas, Nelson LaMonica, Menelaos Florides, William Stahl, Scott Godon-Decoteau, Maarten Simons, Michael Svane Knap, Toby Dutkiewicz, Brian Nielsen, Lars Danielsen, Tommy Kalmar, Cerim Manovi, Robert May, Heidi Rathschau Nielsen, Kevin Burke, and Chris 'Doc' Wyatt. With this army of a development team, you'd think they'd have no trouble fleshing out this world, the characters, and mapping out the action while having plenty of time to develop side plots, establish character arcs, and nail the comedy aspect of the show. Oh brother, do I got bad news for you! Despite having more than enough people running the show, the end result of Lego's hired brain trust was a terribly made kids show! I knkw you're thinking I'm being harsh because I said this show had ninjas, snake people and dragons. However, that was what they advertised in the commercials for this show. The actual premise of the show is were the problems immediately start. Stop me if you've heard this one before: under the tutelage of their wise, old master, 4 teenagers must learn to master the art of ninjitzu to stop an evil overlord in dark armor from wreaking havoc on innocent people. Ring any bells?! That's right, this show is just a carbon copy of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! There are way too many similarities between the 2 to be coincidental. The wise, old master speaks in riddles, the big bad is an evil overlord with black armor, one of the ninjas has a temper, they ride in an armored vehicle and so on! Sure, they're different enough to avoid a lawsuit from Paramount, but that's still no excuse to blatantly copy someone else's homework like that. And it doesn't even do a good job at that because the writing is absolutely terrible. Each episode follows the formulaic plot of the characters trying to learn a lesson while fighting evil. These lessons range from "working together" "steadying your mind" "the dangers of spreading rumors," all stuff we've heard before and done better. This is also yet another infuriating example of "tell, don't show!" I am so sick and tired of having to explain this, but I'm obligated too or else I'm being complacent, which I hate! Telling the audience the backstory or unseen events rather than showing them is UNACCEPTABLE! Especially with the medium of animation, which is a visual medium and as such you should take full advantage of visual storytelling instead of having the characters constantly talk about stuff we'd rather see! Due to the expository dialogue, the pacing is painfully slow with the inciting incident taking forever to happen, and by the time it does happen, there's only several minutes left in the episodes. That's a major problem because these episodes are 22 minutes long! Most of the runtime is spent on boring exposition, unfunny gags, and lackluster world building. There's an episode that's mostly about the characters trying to figure out the answer to their master's riddle, when it's so painfully obvious my dog could've figured it out: and she's DEAD! To future writers, take note as this is exactly what NOT to do when pacing your story!

As stupidly similar this show is to TMNT, the biggest difference between them is while that franchise has likable and memorable characters, this show does NOT! By Yoda's pointy ears are these some incompetent and detestable ninjas! All they do is argue about who's gonna be the Green Ninja, don't take their master seriously, and chatter on like parrots in a room full of howler monkeys! Kai is the arrogant, hot tempered ninja (cough *Raphael* cough), Jay is the brainy chatterbox ninja (cough *Donatello* cough), Zane is the more level headed yet naive ninja (cough *Leonardo* cough) and Cole is the jokester of the quartet (cough *Michaelangelo* cough). Together, they are 4 quarters of a whole idiot that don't follow orders, don't have good chemistry with one another, and don't even have common sense! Master Splinter- I mean Shifu- I mean Yoda- I mean Miyagi-I mean Wu...Kenobi, is yet another old man that speaks in riddles and doesn't have real authority or respect from his students. Nya's the tech girl who's often shafted because Heaven forbid we have a strong female character in this show. The snake people are varying degrees of annoying, one-dimensional bad guys who want to take over the world because it'd be foolish not too in this awfully generic kids show.

Then there's this show's main antagonist, Lord Garmadon. He's so sinister, cold and ruthless, he easily puts every other bad giy in this show to shame...IF HE WAS ACTUALLY IN THIS STUPID SHOW! For all the talk about how reviled and evil he is, he doesn't even appear in the first season save for a dream sequence, which was just terrible as it made him look like a wimp. You know who's the actual antagonist of this show?! His snot nosed son born out of wedlock, Lloyd! Lloyd is such an annoying little twerp who would've made for a funny one off side villain while the ninjas fight a REAL threat, but because he's this show's central antagonist, his presence just makes me want to turn this show off! Lloyd is nothing but a spoiled, annoying little twerp that makes the snake people do petty, childish crimes when they could be, you know? Actually terrorizing people?! And the fact that he's not only a main stay, but eventually becomes a main character of the show just makes me hate him even more!

The voice acting just isn't that good, mainly due to weak material and bad direction. Vincent Tong sounded underwhelming as Kai, not really buying that he's meant to be the hot tempered one. Michael Adamthwaite sounded like her was trying to give Jay a voice crack when he speaks, and it just cane off as annoying. Brent Miller sounded too monotone as Zane, almost to the point where he might as well be a robot. The late Kirby Morrow wasn't particularly funny as Cole and he didn't really sound as enthusiastic as I would've hoped. Kelly Metzger sounded rather conflicted as Nya, like she wasn't sure what voice she should use for the character so it alternates between bubbly and serious. Paul Dobson was just awful as Master Wu, like he doesn't sound even remotely Japanese or even as a wise, humble old man. Rather he sounds like a middle aged man impersonating an old woman and it just does not fit. Jillian Michaels is really the only actress that's doing a good job here as she made Lloyd sound like just like a boy who's so full of himself and realishes in it. All the snake people either sound annoying, stupid or both depending on the characters and I'd prefer they sound more like dastardly cartoon bad guys than have attributes of snake like quirks for their voices.

The animation is the worst part of this show as it not only looks terrible but it also fails as an advertisement for the toy line. Brought to life by Wil Film ApS, the designs of the characters were clearly based on the toys they were planning to sell with the classic blocky bodies, the clothes looking like they were painted on and their limbs being separate pieces. Unlike in previous Lego animated projects, though, the what they characters move is very uncanny and ruins the illusion. The characters move more like they're made of clay rather than solid plastic and as such it comes across as unnatural blob-like. It gets worse when the characters start fighting and oh brother, do I have some choice words for these scenes! First of all, the lack of mass on these characters is painfully obvious. Second of all, the impact of each hit feel like being pelted with a cottonball. Third, and this is the biggest sin, the actual spinjitzu is LAME! The characters spin in a brightly colored tornado and just knock the bad guys over! This makes the main sellinv point of the show look so lame and unengaging. Why would I want to knock my enemies down with a tornado move when I can just do that with a regular punch or kick? The backgrounds are also very flat and vacant, making the land of Ninjago very empty and visually displeasing. It'd be one thing to be a badly animated cartoon, but for a cartoon that's also a commercial for a toy line, this is INEXCUSABLE!

I'm glad I didn't watch this while it was on TV because I guarantee you I would've dropped it like a hat after 1 episode! Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu is another terrible cartoon that fails at EVERYTHING! The writing is terrible, the characters are detestable, the animation is abysmal and voice acting is stale at best! And to add salt in a fresh wound this doesn't even make for a good toy commercial as it did a terrible job selling its main gimmick with its terrible animation and awful action scenes. As such, it deserves the worst fate to bestow on a piece of entertainment this bad: to be ignored and forgotten! Do NOT watch Ninjago! Don't even bother daring yourself to sit through all 15 seasosns as I guarantee you it's not gonna get any better! This is a Lego set that should be tossed in the incinerator! -.-

Possibly the worst seasons ever.
saulstories-0375324 February 2024
I'm pretty sure everyone knows Lego Ninjago, Masters of Spinjitzu. It was awesome. Just awesome. Great characters, awesome plot, AMAZING villains, funny, and just entertaining to watch. I'd really enjoyed the show. And when season 10 ended, I really thought it was the end, it ended on such a good note and everything was good. But then season 11 came. Everything was ruined. I mean, sure. I DO like Season 13 and 14 but, Season 11, just no. I've tried my hardest to like it, but I just CAN'T. How did this show go from a in-depth, intriguing, meaningful series to a little kiddy show with fart jokes and stupid stuff? Wow, LEGO. Do better.

SHOCKING, SILLY, SECURED
yarar-011112 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Now this was crazy.

When I first saw this show I was like "something with happen so great eventually" AND IT DID The moment I saw Sally come into light everything changed. Her song went through my veins and she was like singing so loud on the roof of the cars and the ninjas were like wow she's so good and she was like: Sha-Bop Sha-Bop Sha-Bop!!

My only complaint? MORE SALLY!

She NEEDS to join the ninja team because she is better than Lloyd and nays COMBINED (in terms of fightings skills) her elemental power could be music and she would sing to all the big dips and sing them to sleep and sing them so she would be good because yeah she'd sing And so I think that's why she should be in Ninjago and why it was good because my cousin Mariam related to Sally and she blasted her song to my grandpa and he did a little back flip when he heard how good it was Lloyd Oni form and Sally should get together they would be a cute couple for ever!

Sally is my favorite besides Christofern and I would love to see the relationship between her and Christofern explode and blossom into a wonderous occasions Thank you for listening to my love love song to all of Ninjago!!! Yes!!!

Love me some good Tetrimes-------------------
