Few things are more aggravating than when you find yourself in need of a tow truck. Regardless of how excellent the towing agent is, there’s always a hassle waiting around the corner to cost you money, time, and sanity. Pop star and screen actor Demi Lovato is about to learn the brutal ways of the road by joining the cast of Tow, a new drama from director Stephanie Laing.
Tow is Demi Lovato’s first dramatic role in a feature film. Rose Byrne and The Holdovers breakout Dominic Sessa join Lovato for the project, which is based on a true story. Tow stars Byrne as Amanda Ogle, “an unhoused Seattle woman who fought her way out of tow-company hell to reclaim her life and the car that held it all together after receiving a tow bill for $21,634.” (via Deadline)
Stephanie Laing is thrilled to tell Olge’s story. Speaking...

If you’re familiar with Demi Lovato these days, you know she’s all about being confident—a quality that’s also apparent in her Disney Channel audition. As a teenager, Lovato got her start on the Disney Channel on the short series “As the Bell Rings,” followed by the film “Camp Rock,” co-starring the Jonas Brothers. But it wasn’t until her turn as the title role on the show “Sonny With a Chance” that the star was truly discovered. As you can see in her audition video, Lovato is all energy as she delivers her lines with perfect comedic timing, even nailing a pretty great Wisconsin accent. If you have a bubbly personality anything like hers, you can rock a Disney Channel audition, too! Check out these six tips and watch Lovato’s expert audition below. Inspired by this post? Bad Boys 3, billed as Bad Boys for Life, will see Will Smith and Martin Lawrence back together in January 2020.
Bad Boys 3 or Bad Boys for Life, has been, up until now, a long-kept secret. The difficulty, as producer Jerry Bruckheimer said back in summer 2013, centered on the task of reuniting its duo headlining personnel. Back then, he was "trying to find a hole in Will Smith's schedule."
Having finally overcome dilatory issues, the long-awaited threequel revives the popular buddy cop film franchise of 1995's Bad Boys and 2003's Bad Boys II, both of which were directed by Michael Bay. While he ultimately dropped out of directing the Will Smith and Martin Lawrence revival vehicle, he would be replaced by a duo of up-and-comers in Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.
Now, Bad Boys for Life, the third film in the series is ready to once again ask the ever-pertinent question,...

I interviewed a trio of Texans at SXSW for the comedy Premature, which premiered at the fest (my review). One was Carlson Young, who's a native of Fort Worth. Her first role was on the Austin-shot TV series As the Bell Rings, and her career has included among others, roles in Heroes, Pretty Little Liars, True Blood, The League and Key and Peele.
[Note: Due to technical issues, we were not able to see Premature before interviews.]
Slackerwood: Why don't you tell me a little about your part in the film?
Carlson Young: Initially reading the script, I thought I could do something really different with the character, like I feel like she could come off as the stereotypical popular chick, you know? But I saw her as a lot more than that because I think she's the kind of girl who's like "I'm a badass" to be honest, and sees something she wants and she takes it. It's not about being popular or having friends,...

Malcolm David Kelley is living proof that child actors don't have to embark on a shame spiral culminating in calling the leader of the free world and his wife "ugly" -- ahem, Amanda Bynes. Walt from "Lost" decided to use his time in a much more productive manner, and we can't get enough of what he's created.
Making up half of the pop duo Mkto, Kelley and fellow actor Tony Oller (Disney Channel's "As the Bell Rings") just released the music video for their single, "Classic" -- and it is absolutely amazing for so many reasons.
There is nothing Nsfw about this timeless, catchy tune, as Kelley and Oller obviously don't seem to feel the need to prove to everyone that they're "all grown up." They just let their music speak for them. The dance-ready, toe-tapping beat is coupled with complimentary, mature, smooth lyrics sung by Oller and rapped by Kelley.

Tony Oller 's all-American looks have landed him starring roles on Disney's " As the Bell Rings " and TeenNick's " Gigantic ." Now, the 20-year-old Texas native is ready for a more mature role, landing the lead in NBC's new family movie " Field of Vision ," airing Saturday. In the film, Oller plays Tyler McFarlane, a high-school quarterback who tackles bullying. TooFab chatted with the up-and-coming actor about the role and his personal life. He admitted he isn't that great at football and revealed his celebrity crush! TooFab: Did you have to train to play a quarterback in your new movie? Oller: Yeah, because I’m really not very coordinated when it comes to football. That’s why I’ve never played it. They had us go through two weeks of training before we started shooting and it helped a lot. I think we turned out to be pretty good football players but more-or-less...

Demi Lovato was born Demetria Devonne Lovato on August 20, 1992, to the now-divorced Patrick and Dianna Lovato. The family lived at the time in Albuquerque, New Mexico, but Lovato, her older sister Dallas and younger half-sister Madison were rasied in Dallas, Texas. Dianna was a country singer and Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, and she obviously passed down her singing and dancing talents to Demi, who was just six years old when she was cast as Angela on the popular children's entertainment/educational program, Barney & Friends. Demi spent two years on Barney & Friends before moving on to bigger and better things. She continued to hone her skills as a singer, guitarist, pianist, and songwriter, and on the acting front she made guest shots on Prison Break (TV) and Just Jordan (TV), and played the role of Charlotte in several episodes of Disney's short series As the Bell Rings (TV). Demi -- who stand five-foot-two and is of Hispanic,...

Producer/Actor Randy Molnar just hit Fangoria with a batch of stills and the latest trailer for Ric La Monte's The Tenant. The film was recently completed in Florida, and the filmmakers promise that it "brings together a dramatic classic feel with its tale of horror at Edgewood Asylum, and transforms into a modern day masterpiece of mayhem, with outstanding special effects and surprising twists."
J. Larose (Saw III, Repo!, Mother's Day) toplines the film along with horror icon Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes, The Devil's Rejects) and Bill Cobbs (Night At The Museum).
As the tormented Dr. Newman (Randy Molnar- Contract Killers, This Man’s Life, Larry the Cable Guy) conducts his dark experiments inside Edgewood Asylum, something goes horribly wrong. Twenty-eight years later, in the depths of the asylum, something evil still survives. The Tenant takes you on a terrifying ride of shocking images and a bloody conclusion.

Demi Lovato (As The Bell Rings) plays Mitchie Torres, an aspiring single from a humble background. Her father owns a hardware store and her mother is a cook. At first, Mitchie didn’t think she would be able to afford attending Camp Rock until her mother gets them both a job working there so that she can attend at a discounted rate. Once she arrives, Mitchie meets Caitlyn (played by Alyson Stoner of Phineas and Ferb). Caitlyn is talented and genuine, the kind of girl that Mitchie should be friends with. Unfortunately for Caitlyn, Mitchie is much more interested in Tess Tyler (Meaghan Jette Martin) and the cool crowd. Mitchie lies to everyone at camp, telling them that her mom is a famous music television producer in China. She spends more than half the movie ignoring Caitlyn in favor of Tess and her followers. Mitchie also meets Shane Gray (Joe Jonas...
