The Bad Batch are in more trouble than ever after running into ace bounty hunter Fennec Shand in “Cornered.” Although they manage to escape with their lives, and with Omega still safe and sound, Hunter and his team of clone mutants know that the bounty hunter (and new Imperial super-agent Crosshair) won’t give up that easy.
In “Rampage,” a plan is hatched to get more info on the mysterious bounty hunter (they don’t know it’s Fennec from The Mandalorian yet) as well as the person who hired her to kidnap Omega. But informant Cid (Rhea Perlman) won’t give them the information they need until they do something for her: rescue an asset named “Muchi” from a group of cruel Zygerrian slavers, a mission that leads to the episode’s excellent twist.

In “Cornered,” the Bad Batch clones find a bounty hunter on their heels who is looking for Omega. Stuck on the planet Pantora looking for fuel, they’re getting hemmed in on all sides as the Empire continues to confirm its power over the systems formerly represented by the Republic.
This episode features a wide variety of returning characters, most notably Fennec Shand from The Mandalorian making her animated debut, as well quite a few easter eggs. Take a look at all the Star Wars references and connections we found this week:
Fennec Shand and Ming-Na Wen
– Fennec Shand debuted as a live-action character in The Mandalorian. She appears in several episodes, first in the season one episode “The Gunslinger” and as a more regular member of the cast in season two. Ming-Na Wen both performs the live action role and...

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Episode 4
The clones of the Bad Batch are low on food and fuel, but it’s a more exotic problem that meets them on the planet Pantora: a cool and competent bounty hunter. “Cornered,” an action-heavy episode directed by Saul Ruiz and written by Christian Taylor, brings more of the same to The Bad Batch. This might end up being a make-or-break episode for some folks; we’re really in the plot now, the threats and relationships established. The bond between the clones, or Hunter and Omega specifically, has to work at this point … and I’m so-so on whether it does. The rapid-fire pace means there isn’t a lot of time for all that to sink in, and a B-plot involving Echo being sold as if he’s a droid feels especially surface-level.
