- Ariki Davis: So what happened to Dermot?
- Stephen: He won't say. Rob and Haggis taught him a lesson, no doubt.
- Ariki Davis: Could Lois have been involved somehow?
- Stephen: My Lois?
- Ariki Davis: She has a motive... first love. Grub's the reason she's in a wheelchair.
- Stephen: Right. So how did she get there? Did Grub pick her up? Did she wheel herself out there? Maybe she caught a taxi? How'd she get there? How'd she lift Grub over the bridge?
- Ariki Davis: She's pretty strong.
- Stephen: Jackie wasn't in town the night of the murder.
- Ariki Davis: Jackie was in town that night. She was speaking with the family lawyer about trying to get her shares out of the farm.
- Stephen: Right. And when did she tell you this?
- Ariki Davis: After the wake.
- Stephen: Oh, please tell me you didn't sleep with her. Please tell me you didn't sleep with a suspect in the middle of a case.
- Stephen: I'm not sure if you're aware, but Detective Davis has been suspended after a serious breach of the Police Code of Conduct.
- Jackie: What kind of breach?
- Stephen: Sexual misconduct. He informed me that the two of you had sexual intercourse the night of the wake.
- Jackie: What? Why would he say that?
- Stephen: So that's not what happened?
- Lois: Stay away from One Lane Bridge. I'm serious. It's not safe.
- Ariki Davis: What do you mean it's a link to the other side?
- Lois: All I know is that it changes you.
- Dermot Braithwaite: What's going on?
- Emma Ryder: They haven't told you? They're selling the farm. You knew?
- Dermot Braithwaite: Yeah. Grub mentioned it was a possibility. Five generations of Braithwaites have worked this land. Our bones are in that graveyard. Same as yours.
- Emma Ryder: You're the only one that understands.
