While most female leads have conventionally played fairly easy and glamorous roles in their debut films, Khushalii Kumar made a bold choice of essaying a complex and challenging character in her very first film, Dhokha – Round D Corner.
Portraying the role of a married woman with a personality disorder caught in the midst of a dangerous situation, the actress underwent intense preparation and extensive workshops to get under the skin of her character. From studying cinema that touched upon the subject to acting workshops, multiple readings to months of preparing for the role, Khushalii gave her all to focus on the film given that her character in Dhokha is very layered and challenging.
Comments director Kookie Gulati, “This character was definitely not easy and Khushalii stepped up to the challenge despite this being her debut film. It was a truly courageous move and the kind of effort she has...

If actress Kangana Ranaut's tirade against Alia Bhatt wasn't enough, the former's sister Rangoli Chandel entered the 'war of words' zone, as did the Raazi actress' mother Soni Razdan and co-actor Randeep Hooda. Kangana has been calling out Alia since earlier this year for not supporting her film Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, and had claimed this was all a part of a "strange sort of racket" in a section of the film industry. She had also called Alia a product of Karan Johar's "nepotistic gang".
Ever since, Kangana has made several references regarding Alia, the latest being over her "mediocre" performance in the otherwise widely lauded Gully Boy.
But in a recent interview, Alia merely said: "I respect Kangana's work a lot and I respect her opinion. If she feels a particular way she must have reason to feel that way. I would rather remember how much...

Mumbai, July 28: Pooja Bhatt wants "Jism 2" to be a game changer for her, just as the 1982 "Arth" was for her father Mahesh Bhatt.

Coming up next from Balaji Films and Ekta Kapoor is Ragini Mms, directed by Pavan Kirpalani, and starring Raj Kumar Yadav and Kainaz Motivala. Ragini Mms is a sensuous paranormal film, shot as if in real time!
The quintessential couple, Ragini and Uday, set out to have a dirty weekend at a friend's farmhouse on the outskirts of Mumbai.
The weekend getaway quickly changes gears as they find themselves in a house that has been rigged with cameras in Bigg Boss style.
The cameras that were meant to capture love-making are witness to something that is beyond the realm of human understanding...something metaphysical....
Within the confines of this house, Ragini and Uday are now at the mercy of an unexplainable paranormal force.
With sundown approaching, what will the new entrants of the house do?
Positively, among the most keenly awaited films of the season, Ragini Mms, a hybrid of fact and fiction,...

Indian filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and his daughter, actress-turned-director Pooja Bhatt, have been invited by Pope Benedict XVI to attend a papal meeting with artists from around the world in Vatican City this month.
The Bhatts will be among more than 260 artists—representing painting, sculpture, literature, music, dance, architecture, theater, and cinema—at the event, which will be held on November 21st in the Sistine Chapel—a room in the Vatican covered with Michelangelo's frescos, which are arguably the most famous examples of Western art.
Vatican officials said they hope the meeting will improve the Church's relations with the global artistic community and create opportunities for collaboration. While the Catholic Church was once a primary sponsor of art, the two have become, in the words of a Vatican spokesman, "estranged" in modern times, both for ideological and stylistic reasons.
The Vatican chose the invitees based on leadership in their fields, not religious background.

'Dhokha' (2007): Although his acting career has unfortunately since fizzled, model Muzammil Ibrahim shows enormous potential in his film debut as Zaid, an honest and dedicated cop who calmly endures prejudice as a Muslim. After his girlfriend Nandini (Aushima Sawhney) jilts him because her parents disapprove of their relationship, Zaid agrees to an arranged marriage to a woman he doesn’t know—the sweet and lovely Sarah (Tulip Joshi), whom he quickly comes to love. But his happy home life is shattered when his wife is killed in a terrorist bombing—and it turns out she was the suicide bomber. He’s appalled by his ignorance about his wife, and after he’s cleared of any involvement in the crime, he sets out to find those who instigated Sarah’s actions and he learns the horrifying reason she did it. The film is preachy in parts and at times implausible,...

The film is expected to hit the floors by the end of this year. Meanwhile Muzamil is busy putting his act together for Deepak Tijori's upcoming film. While his last film Dhokha received critical acclaim but couldn't rake in moolah at the box-office, this time we hope it's a different story for Muzamil....

Like a good Daddy's girl, Pooja Bhatt made her debut in the much acclaimed film Daddy. Post that she was a regular feature in most of Mahesh Bhatt's films be it Sadak, Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin, Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayee, Sir, Tamanna and Zakhm. However after impressing one and all with her acting prowess in the above mentioned films, Pooja took a self-imposed break from acting and started focusing on producing and directing films. Her directorial debut Paap may not have struck gold at the B.O. but films like Dhokha did fetch her critical acclaim. Today this feisty actress cum producer-director turns a year older (or should we say younger) and we at Bollywood Hungama give you a chance in joining us to wish Pooja Bhatt a very Happy Birthday. You may post your birthday wishes for Pooja in the comments section below.
