- TriviaA weekly ~15-minute series "Pelivihjeet" premiered on YLE TV2 channel on Friday, January 3, 1992, originally hosted by Harri Pöntinen. It focused on Finnish sports betting tips and odds, mainly English football from "FA Premier League" (Vakioveikkaus) and Finnish harness racing (65-raviveikkaus). A Finnish football from "Veikkausliiga" soon followed. A hosting duo of Markku Heikkilä and Petri Aholaita was introduced on March 27, 1992. Hans Fyhrqvist and Marko Lähteenmäki also hosted a few episodes in the 1992 and 1993 seasons. After 74 episodes, the series moved to a Tuesday time slot on June 1, 1993. The last episode of the 1993 season was aired on October 12.
"Pelivihjeet" didn't air during the 1994 season. Instead, the companion series Pelin henki (1993) aired two times a week (Tuesdays and Fridays) from October 19, 1993. From January 3, 1995, Pelin henki (1993) itself was replaced by a similar themed series Pelikaani (1995), which also initially aired two times a week (again Tuesdays and Fridays). Eventually "Pelivihjeet" returned to a Friday time slot on August 18, 1995 when ~10-minute episodes were hosted by Saara Karhu. The last episode hosted by Karhu was aired on December 29, 1995.
Pelin henki (1993) returned for the 1996 season on Tuesday, January 2. From January 5, ~15-minute "Pelivihjeet" continued to air on a Friday time slot, now hosted by Krista Taubert (née Salomaa). First the on-screen title was "Pelin henki" (still titled "Pelivihjeet" in the TV listings), but soon the on-screen title "Pelivihjeet" returned. The last episode hosted by Salomaa was aired on October 25, 1996 and from November 1 the series changed its on-screen title to "Vakion vihjerivi" (still titled "Pelivihjeet" in the TV listings). A short ~5-minute episodes didn't feature any hosts.
From June 19, 1997 the series again aired with the on-screen title "Pelivihjeet", and ~10-minute episodes were hosted by Marja Kokkonen. From August 15, the ~5-minute episodes yet again had a new host Petri Nevalainen (with sports betting expert Jorma Vuoksenmaa and sportscaster Olli Ikäheimo), mirroring the changes in the companion series Pelin henki (1993). The final episode of "Pelivihjeet" was aired on December 26, 1997 (the series "Peliuutiset" then aired from 1998 to 2013).
