• Dr. Brewer : [In the kitchen]  Ok, now, have a seat. Now, if I explain to you what I'm doing in the basement, would you feel better?

  Casey Brewer : I would.

  Dr. Brewer : [Takes off glasses, exhaling]  Ok, now, I'm gonna try to explain this to you as simply as possible. Botanists often try to take good qualities from some plants, and put them into another.

  Casey Brewer : [Disappointingly]  Ok.

  Margaret Brewer : Maybe you can tell us later.

  Dr. Brewer : Yeah, well, maybe.

  Margaret Brewer : Hey, Mom rented us movies. I can make some popcorn, and we can stay up late and watch them all.

  Dr. Brewer : Uh, no, I have a lot of work to do. Maybe some other time.

• Dr. Brewer : [Dr Brewer has just dished out a revolting green breakfast]  Eat.

  Casey Brewer : Um... what is it?

  Dr. Brewer : It's my special recipe. Go ahead - dig in.

  Margaret Brewer : It doesn't smell so good.

  Dr. Brewer : It'll taste just fine.

  [getting annoyed] 

  Dr. Brewer : What's the matter with you two? Pick up your spoons and eat it.

  Dr. Brewer : [Margaret and Casey raise some of it to their mouths but don't eat. Suddenly, the doorbell rings and Dr. Brewer reluctantly goes to answer]  When I get back, I expect those bowls to be empty.

  [Margaret and Casey quickly empty it into the bin]
