First announced in 2017, the movie was described as an expansion of a short film from Jamie Stangroom that wasn't able to find a concrete answer to the central investigation. An Indiegogo campaign was launched, and more than two years later, the finished product was posted to YouTube on September 25, 2019.
Had two Indigogo campaigns. The first campaign earned $2,589 USD with 72 backers, 18% of the $14,363 USD goal set. Originally this was meant to cover the cost of the entire film's production. Given the ambitiousness of this goal, Jamie Stangroom settled for the proceeds the campaign did receive in addition to his own money. Eventually, a second Indiegogo campaign was created (after the film gained a following online) to cover the cost of post-production and additional shoots. It earned $421 USD with 11 backers, 11% of the $3,750 USD goal.
On September 23, 2019 the film was posted early for Indiegogo campaign backers but was subsequently pulled and re-posted twice until the film went live on September 25th. The reason for the re-posts was that director/editor Jamie Stangroom could make "a few technical edits... nothing narrative" before the official release date, which had already been pushed back due to reedits and additional material being added. Going on in an email to the Indiegogo backers, Stangroom said, "I didn't expect this to be a trilogy, but here is the third and final link that is about to go live to the world... I hope you enjoyed your two exclusive versions."
Filmed over the course of four years (2015 - 2018).
