During a live performance of The River, Daisy angrily sings at Billy, who continues to play guitar while staring back at her. This is a direct homage to Fleetwood Mac's performance of Silver Springs during their concert Fleetwood Mac: The Dance (1997), where Stevie Nicks intensely sings at ex-boyfriend Lindsey Buckingham, who meets her gaze and sings back at her. The performance went viral in 2023 and is considered one of the greatest live performances of all time.
According to Sam Claflin, before Billy and Daisy's hallway fight, the two actors pushed against each other to get into the intimate space of aggression and lust needed for the scene. Daisy shoving and hitting Billy was improvised by Riley Keough with encouragement from Claflin.
It was actors Camila Morrone and Sebastian Chacon's idea to have their characters Camila Alvarez Dunne and Warren Rojas converse in Spanish rather than English. Both actors, of Latin backgrounds and Spanish speakers, agreed that it would come naturally between two friends.
The separate tour buses demanded by Billy and Daisy have "We Love Billy" and "We Love Daisy" on the destination signs. Reflecting their personalities, Billy's bus was bland in color and functional with seats and tables; while Daisy's was a "party bus" full of bright colors and couches instead of seats. The couches were inspired by a photo of Stevie Nicks laying on a couch inside a Fleetwood Mac tour bus in the 1970s.
Costume designer Denise Wingate decided to change up Billy Dunne's regular aesthetic and dress actor Sam Claflin in an embroidered shirt for the press conference scene. The actors on set weren't so sure it fit his character and it was decided Daisy Jones (Riley Keough) would make fun of his shirt head on to address the change in style.
