Bill Nighy presents Bilbao, sardines and cider
safenoe10 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Bill Nighy is the ideal narrator of this railway series, but I wish he appeared on screen like Michael Portillo. I'd love to see Bill traipes the carriage cars dispensing his wisdom amongst the passengers with references to Love, Actually.

Here Bill takes us to North Spain, e.g. Bilbao which transformed itself into a modern art city, cemented by the famous Guggenheim Museum. Interestingly, Guggenheim was thinking of setting up a museum in Geelong, in the Australian state of Victoria. But not to be.

Bill also takes us to a famous sardine competition and cider avenue.

So disappointing
joanwillison5 November 2023
We were excited by the trailer but what a complete disappointment. Narrative was boring, why did they choose to highlight cheap flamingo where guests were almost touching the dancers? Apparently they were served tuna steaks at least three times. The curtain was battling a man trying to eat in the dining car. Nothing seemed luxurious but the train was barely mentioned. Highlighted horses snd the only female rider but didn't tell us why she was the only female. Would have loved to have heard about the landscape and history. My husband and I were laughing and joking about how bad this was. Too bad because the location and spectacular landscape was there for the taking but the cameras didn't capture it. This was terrible.
