Somewhat slow paced, but enjoyable drama...

Whenever I stumbled upon an Asian movie that I haven't already seen, then I sit down to watch the movie at the first given opportunity. And thus it also was with the 2017 South Korean drama "Desert of No Return" from writers Song Jin Hwa and Eun-Nim Ko.

As I had never heard about the movie before, I didn't know what I was getting into here, aside from what I could read from the synopsis and the fact that it was a drama. So director Eun-Ki Ko had every opportunity to entertain me with this movie.

I will say that the storyline told in "Desert of No Return" might not be suitable for just everyone in the audience, as it is a somewhat slow paced story. It is a story that is essentially in two parts, as we follow the events in the lives of Soo Eun (played by Yoon-Kyeong Ha) and Tae Shik (played by Jo Sung-Ha) as their lives become entangled with a deadly outcome. I found the storyline to be interesting, though director Eun-Ki Ko delivered a fairly slow paced movie.

The character gallery in the movie was every bit as detailed as the storyline itself, so that definitely added a good layer to the movie.

The acting performances in the movie were good, and the actors and actresses helped to bring the movie to life on the screen in a satisfying manner.

If you enjoy a character-driven drama, then you should perhaps give "Desert of No Return" a chance, should the opportunity aside.

My rating of "Desert of No Return" lands on a six out of ten stars.
