An auspicious film debut...

...for a rising young actor that focuses on---surprise!---a rising young actor, "Pieces of Me" also puts a solid notch in the handle of a rising young writer/director, Julia Max. I'll not spoil anything, but once I saw the ineffable Caroline "Texas Chainsaw Massacre II" Williams show up, I knew this short was going to be a winner. Highly recommended as a Halloween treat, I caught this tasty giblet on the Alter channel on YouTube, and will be investigating the rest of Ms. Max's work, as well as keeping an eye out for Ms. Kaplan in her future projects.

admirable job

An ironical perspective about succes key in showbiz. Admirable crafted, proposing the fair story in fair terms, precise details and admirable reflection of the steps to be not ignored of a young starlet . Inspired simplicity of story and great touch of old fashion horrors.

A Different Type of Method Acting

A different type of method acting.

I like the idea. It could be a feature film or TV series.

It's obvious that they're spend a lot of money. Very good short movie.a.

Losing credits impressively fast.

Warning: Spoilers
The murder scene and the section before it were so janky, amateurish and unintentionally funny, that I thought the big twisty reveal would be that our "heroine" got the role she wanted, which turned out to be in a category C slasher horror movie. In some ways that is exactly what happened. Also, please eat your brain first next time! Everyone will be happier that way.

How?! Why?! How could you?! - not that brain tho. Look for a better one to boost your acting (khm... directing) ability. Or just accept that it's not your slice of cake. Your decision. Hey, being a waitress isn't that bad at all. You can use the nonsensical magical unicorn dust thing of yours to be the best waitress ever!
