It was okay.
Chartreuse124 September 2020
Bridget breaks up with her boyfriend, Zack, to move to Los Angeles and follow in her father's footsteps to become a writer, a blogger, to be exact. But after showing up unannounced at the company and actually being seen, the boss tells her that she needs to have a blog that will sell. Bridget meets Anthony Glonz who hires her as an executive assistant after seeing her from afar and she finds that her job is too good to be true and Anthony's shady. You'll have to tune it to see what happens next. Decent acting but the story short-circuits at the end. Would not watch again.

Absolute Control
lavatch5 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Whatever title you prefer, "Sugar Baby Murder" or "Her Deadly Sugar Daddy," this film is preposterous from the perspective of both the sugar baby and the sugar daddy!

Miss Bridget Caprice is an aspiring writer recently transplanted from Arizona to Los Angeles. Bridget's father, Lawrence Caprice, was a famous novelist, who died when Bridget was sixteen. Now, she wants to do her father proud by becoming a famous blogger!

Enabled by her bubbly bestie Lindsey, Bridget takes the bait from a nefarious and crooked con artist named Anthony J. Glonz. Anthony makes Bridget an offer she can't refuse as his high-priced "Executive Assistant." Her principal duties involve the entertaining of Anthony's male clients, whom he films for the purpose of blackmailing. Anthony's motto is the "absolute control" that he wants to possess over his clientele, including his naive executive assistant.

Bridget's dream is to write for a blog called "Swerve," whose motto is "truth so raw." But the film never rang true with Bridget succumbing to the mesmerizing predator Anthony. Both her former boyfriend Zach and her mother Jolene warn her about the sleazy Anthony, yet the gullible Bridget completely ignores their good counsel. None of the scenes of Bridget's interactions with Anthony's clients made sense because she only sat next to them in restaurants and did some flirting in the new, garish outfits she had purchased on Rodeo Drive.

Things come to a head at Anthony's mansion, where the entire group of Bridget, Lindsey, Jolene, and Zach may be killed by Anthony and his thug Damon Radovich. It is only due to the quick-thinking mom Jolene that Bridget will be spared the miserable and predictable fate of a hapless sugar baby.

And what is it that Bridget has learned from the experience? As she strolls confidently in to the offices of Swerve in the denouement, the answer is clear: nothing.

The story was ok. But the main actress acting was horrible.

Terrible outfits
nightroses13 May 2021
The main character is basically thick. She takes on a really sleazy offer with a man she has just met, not to mention getting in a car with him and he was a stranger. He gave her money to buy clothes, and she ends up purchasing some very grotesque glitter things that doesn't look like anything a normal human being would wear. She found herself being sexually assaulted by slime balls and accepts it. The film stinks and makes women out to be hideously dumb. The best friend was a pointless character. The only people who cared about her safety was her mother and ex boyfriend. It was a disjointed and anti-climatic film. The evil boss man was probably good at acting the villain but his character has no background, history or logic.

What even was this

Honestly didn't know what to expect. Cinematography was fine, something was off that made it feel cheap. The main character's blog made no sense. The boss/ villain in the story literally had no motive on tricking her into being a "sugar baby" or whatever she was. This film was more of a comedy to me than a thriller.... /:

WORST MOVIE... How dumb can she be???
Vienna2610 April 2021
This is by far the worst lifetime movie Ive ever seen and I usually love a good cheesy movie. Listen, I understand characters in lifetime movies making somewhat unrealistic or dumb choices to drive the plot forward, but this movie just went WAYYYY beyond that PLUS an underdeveloped storyline that could have been interesting. Literally every choice the main actress made was 100% not what a normal person would do at all, even if you had less than 3 brain cells (which she does). Not to mention the even dumber best friend who just went with everything she did despite the huge red flags. Only Zach and the Mom kept me from giving this a 1 since they were both somewhat smart (not that the main actress even considered listening to them because why listen to logic from the people closest to you). Its not like she was a teenager either shes a 22 year old who acted like a 14 year old the entire film. Imagine watching a movie where every scene has multiple red flags as to why something is sketchy or a bad choice... yet the main character never questions any of it and does the opposite of what a normal human would do Every. Single. Time. Thats this movie. Such a joke, stay away from it or you'll pull all your hair out by the end. The acting from the main actress and best friend was also horrible and by the end I was just hoping shed have a tragic demise and that the boss would win. I personally think the boss did well in his role and was the most interesting to watch, even though his story line was barely developed.

I couldn't hate this more

Warning: Spoilers
How dumb can they really make Bridget be. She completely ignores all of the giant red flags until the end when her life depends on it, and then all the sudden she has issues with it. The actual action part doesn't happen until there is 14 mins left. When Lindsey knocks Anthony out, a normal human would maybe, I don't know, that the damn gun away from the man. However, Bridget now decides to say, "mom wake up, mom wake up." As if that has ever worked in the history of man kind. The writing is by far the worst. Come on. She wants to be a writer so she moves to LA. Boring. Lindsey has to be the most annoying person on the planet too. You can tell her to shut up. It is possible. I don't even get the whole point of the movie bc... nothing bad happened... like it's not really drama. They never even specified on his crimes, or on how michaela died. I would rather get a Covid test again, than watch this.

One of the worst
cuteybee-1869121 March 2021
Easily one of the worst lifetime movies I've ever watched. The type of cheesiness and bad acting that makes you uncomfortable. The mom & Zack were the only characters that didn't make me roll my eyes at every word. Just terrible.

Not worth it.
CranberriAppl9 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
She's in this with her eyes wide open and she used this "job" for her blog. Why feel sorry for her? How do you want a job that relies heavily on social media and the internet, and yet you don't even do a basic search on your "boss?" She doesn't listen to anyone except the friend that encourages her to do this. The guy gives her money to shop in their first meeting and she's over the moon. I don't feel sorry for her. She walked into this knowingly. She was very much an escort in spite of her denial of the obvious.

She wasn't sympathetic at all and her new wardrobe was so tacky. Obviously the movie changes if something happens to the protag, but at the same time, these endings need to occasionally be lessons learned as opposed to happily ever after. She treated Zack terribly and he could do better than her.

Lifetime has movies where the protags are actually duped into situations that are better than this.

A fun Lifetime thriller
mjanssens2617 April 2021
IMO, people who review Lifetime films as though they're supposed to be the same quality as Sunset Boulevard or Citizen Kane need to seriously get a clue. For a Lifetime-quality film, this was great. A nice, simple escapism popcorn thriller with some good twists and scary moments. Great to take your mind off the current Covid-19 lock downs and troubles in the world.

I don't understand how people who are this bad at acting are able to get these opportunities. No offense or anything but I was cringing the entire time.

Great story, but with flawed movtives
hovaoc1491 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed this film Good: The story moved along nicely, slowly sucking Bridget into the secret world of escorting.

Main actress looked stunning. Well acted. I enjoyed her wardrobe changes.

Boss man did a great job as being the shady, but loyal man.

Bad: the best friend was super annoying, why she act so immature all the time and why she have such a big mouth revealing everything to Bridgets mom?

The ex-boyfriend was equally as annoying. Keeps showing up at their house rabdomly, The guy needs a restraining order put on him.

The motive of the Boss was strange. Why did he show Bridget all of the photos and recordings of her with the clients for? She was already a willing participant so why did he have to blackmail her like for? Bridget surely knew her boss was a dodgy character but one thing she knew was that he valued her and wouldnt do anything to her to lose her.

All in all a decent movie but the ending was bad.

Meh

Could have been good but not enough storyline. Nothing crazy even happens until the last 30 minutes of the movie. Not enough questions answered or storyline involved and the acting was not the best.

This movie should make giving zero stars possible
daquiacook25 September 2022
This movie honestly is so frustrating and cringey. I didn't expect much considering it's on life time, so the main character being a terrible actor and stuttering her way through her lines was not surprising. It's the fact that she was such a pathetic woman and this idea of needing to suck up to a man in order to make something of yourself as a woman, using your body and beauty to benefit him and the other creeps in the movie. Also, I don't care if her boyfriend was worried, he was a creep, annoying, and had no respect for boundaries. I cut it off when she started begging him for forgiveness..

Trashy and Tasteless
ryleilove20 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was to me, pointless. The acting was horrible and the "villain" didn't feel like one at all. His acting was just annoying. Main character was annoying and looked good in none of her dresses. When he gave her the money to buy a new dress, I thought they'd have this actress wear something classy and elegant, instead I got trashy and tasteless. The wardrobe director should be fired from all future projects. If they were going for classless, they could have at least chosen something that looked flattering on her. The writing was just off in a lot of places, the blog was just dumb - it would have been better if she felt forced into it and lost her way to find her way back and tell her story....an unexpected story of reluctant resilience would have just been more satisfying, even if it started out as it did with her realizing this is her story. Her best friend was useless and I was hoping she'd be killed off. Point is, I watched and was not pleased. This movie was a waste of my time.

Oh dear me... If you're going to make films, make sure your budget is higher than fifty dollars.
djcolzz6 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Granted, lifetime movies are infamously awful, but please, for the love of heaven, give us at least a modicum of intelligence.

First things first: avoid including the biggest spoiler in the title of a film if you want people to take it seriously. "Deadly Sugar Daddy" was released as "Sugar Baby Murder" in the UK. Yeah, still not helpful to contain how this entire thing unfolds.

Stupid, meaningless writing. A ton of bad acting. A script that assumes its audience is made up of imbeciles. A Director who couldn't point you in the direction of the closest toilet.

Straight in the bin is a better description than "bargain bin." Is it the worst movie you'll ever watch? Possibly not. Not the worst, but definitely not the best, or anywhere near t.

Don't watch it unless you're very bored or too lazy to find something better to watch. Don't watch if you are already feeling self-loathing. You will only end up feeling worse about yourself for watching. It is not going to elevate you in any way.

I might have to up my meds now.

Too many irate contributors LOL
haroot_azarian5 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
OK first of all Lauren Swikard is a good actress. Those who criticised her performance (some of them in poor English I hasten to add) should take their time and watch other works of hers. So with that out of the way let's get to the story.. Basically it's about an over ambitious newly graduated clueless small town girl who moves to LA to make a name for herself as a blogger and not live in her late novelist dad's shadow. In trying to do that she ends up becoming a sugar baby, writing blogs about her experiences. Her mom on a visit immediately recognises what her daughter is doing, who by the way still thinks she's in total control and knows what she's doing. As they part company she makes an offensive remark to her mom. But in the end being a mom ends up saving her brat daughter's life!

Yes I do agree that the acting was not top notch for any of them. But hey it's not exactly Philadelphia or A Few Good Men, or Titanic! It's just an LMN PG14 movie! So less whining!
