Irish folklore is made up of things like music, folktales, and dance, and includes all of folk culture. Storytelling has always been an Irish tradition and embraces tales of fairies, mermaids, leprechauns, and other mythical creatures. Dublin-based filmmaker Kate Dolan has successfully created a chilling coming-of-age story, which relies on the dark folk history of Ireland, with her debut feature film You Are Not My Mother. Written and directed by Dolan, the film follows a teenager whose mother goes missing and when she returns a few days later, she is horrifyingly different. You Are Not My Mother premiered at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival and received the Runner Up People’s Choice Award in the Midnight Madness section.

Disney’s LGBTQ employees and their supporters are rallying virtually and in-person for a full day of solidarity actions to call attention to the company’s response to Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill.
A group of about 75 Disney employees gathered Tuesday morning at the Bette Davis Picnic Area, down the street from Disney’s Burbank studio, where they held signs and chanted “Disney say gay! We won’t go away!” and “We are queer! We are here!”
Several of the protesters said their supervisors had been generally supportive of the walkout. A lot of meetings had been rescheduled to accommodate the walkout.
At the rally in the park, several employees said it was important for the company to stop funding Florida legislators who supported the bill that prohibits instruction around gender identity and sexual orientation. But several also expressed concern that Disney been has transferring workers from California to Florida.

As promised by the title of the film, the official trailer for "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" is filled with utter madness. There's certainly a lot to unpack, but when it comes to That voice at 1:18, it kicks down whatever forbidden door was cracked open to let "Spider-Man: No Way Home" happen and introduces a plethora of possibilities for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to be even more connected to the House of Ideas' films that existed before it's inception. Because make no doubt about it, that was Patrick Stewart's voice we heard in this trailer that premiered during Super Bowl...

Before the Super Bowl had even started, Marvel Studios was already making waves, thanks to a brand new trailer for “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” This new trailer introduced us to even more alternate reality versions of Doctor Strange (all of them played by Benedict Cumberbatch), gave us a much better look at Wanda/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), and introduced many more surprises that will have us pondering and puzzling until the film’s May 6 release.
Now, our most pressing questions about the “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse” of madness questions — including the identity behind that voice.
Who Is That Voice? Marvel Studios
The biggest question revolves around a vocal cameo from an unseen speaker (adding to its importance is that this moment featured prominently in the Super Bowl spot and the full-length trailer). At one point Doctor Strange is detained, presumably because he’s getting into some multiverse shenanigans,...

Films about dreams coming true through sports are not exactly a rarity, but Chang Jung-chi has managed to present the concept with an approach that truly highlights both it and the game of basketball. To do so, he based his script on the real-life news story of basketball players Kao Kuo-chiang and Kao Kuo-hao, who clashed while playing for different schools, and spent two years on research with numerous high school basketball powerhouses. “We Are Champions” is screening at Five Flavours Asian Film Festival
The story revolves around two teenage brothers, Tung-hao and Hsiu-yu, who is partially deaf. The two brothers seem to have nothing in life, but basketball and each other. During a streetball match, the two of them impress some people from the crowd, and they soon find themselves being offered places in high schools with basketball programs, one quite prestigious and one more ragtag.

Genre cinema rarely feels as multifaceted as Congolese director Jean Luc Herbulot’s gonzo thriller Saloum, which combines its disparate influences with such abandon that you can’t help but go along for the ride. Propulsively lurching with infectious glee from crime drama to modern-day Western to horror suffused with supernatural elements, this may turn out to be the rare African film that enters the international mainstream, or, at the very least, achieves cult movie status. Appropriately showcased in the Midnight Madness section of the Toronto Film Festival, the feature marks its director-screenwriter and his creative partner, producer Pamela Diop, as talents to ...

After an eight-year streak on the Culver City lot, Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group chairman Tom Rothman will continue to lead the film studio, this time adding CEO to his title as the global media conglomerate has extended his contract. Rothman will continue to report to Sony Pictures Entertainment chairman and CEO Tony Vinciquerra.
Before the pandemic, rumors swirled about Rothman’s retirement, but that is certainly not happening. A proponent of protecting the theatrical window, he has amassed great global hits for Sony during his eight-year tenure including Marvel’s Spider-Man: Far From Home ($1.13 billion worldwide box office), Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle ($962.5 million) and its sequel Next Level ($800M), and Venom ($854M), while turning adult contemporary movies like the Oscar-nominated Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (Rothman lured Quentin Tarantino to the studio) and Little Women into worldwide event films with respective grosses of $374.5M and $216.6M.

20th Century Studios and Disney+ have debuted a new trailer for the raw and raunchy comedy ‘Vacation Friends.’
In the film, straight-laced Marcus and Emily are befriended by wild, thrill-seeking partiers Ron and Kyla at a resort in Mexico. Directed by Clay Tarver, the film stars John Cena, Lil Rel Howery, Yvonne Orji, Meredith Hagner, Robert Wisdom, Andrew Bachelor and Lynn Whitfield.
