My man!
Rodrigo_Amaro24 March 2020
A different cologne ad (released in between 2019/2020) sort of brought me here because there was this male model who looked exactly like Robert Pattinson and I wanted to know if its was him and next thing I know...Pattz actually had some extensive body of work being the face of Dior. This more recent commercial presents the good-looking actor with model Lana Zakocela in some greatly lit sets, romantic and appealing scenarios, loving glances et all. It's nice but that's it.

Selling the brand when it comes to perfume usually follows a typical trend of using of handsome males or gorgeous females to give us the notion their presence and their faces are fascinating to the point you cannot turn off your eyes to see them. Fine. Add to that equation the special formula they'll probably are wearing (not really, it's all a question of being it for the money and the prestige), then impressed viewers will fall for it. And when you have the striking features of former Edward Cullen now current Batman, the brand has all the tools to grab new costumers. Pattinson is not unfamiliar with the fashion world, he was a model way back in time though not much of a good one if you look/search for his campaings from the early 2000's - it's embarassing. But Hollywood and this fame thing made him a household name to viewers, who grew accostumed to his lovely face, amazing smile and excellent presence. Well, the ad works in that sense, the girl is nice too but without someone hugely famous it'd be just an almost forgettable ad.

Thumbs up to this because it's simple, safe and Pattz presence. Usually I tend to like ads that are longer, with a concept and if possible with great directors behind them as well (recent examples includes one from Prada directed by Roman Polanski and starring Ben Kingsley and Helena Bonham Carter; and one by Wes Anderson, can't remember the product). When you can make art out of the ordinary, sell the brand with a spectacular fashion and taste you have a more interesting way to feel interested by the product rather than just admiring beauty spectacles, mere lusty entertainment.

The other ads I've seen starring Pattinson are a little more edgier, longer and have Led Zeppelin "Whole Lotta Love" in the background. It's a plus. 8/10

A beautiful advertisement

This is more of an advertisement than a short. It advertises a new fragrance. It is nicely shot, with beautiful sets and beautiful people. And you can see Robert Pattison half naked, if that is your thing.

Who is singing here?
jeffc-1821323 January 2022
I swear it's sounds like Dean Ween singing this Leonard Cohen cover. From where'd the cheese go to this. I need to know if this is really Deaner. I could be wrong but you gotta say it sure does sound like him.

Worth seeing only if you are crushing really hard on Pattinson, otherwise not at all

Warning: Spoilers
If you read the title "Dior: I'm your Man - Dior Homme" from beginning to end, then perhaps almost half of this short film is already over because it only runs for 45 seconds. Robert Pattinson is the star in here and the fact that he was chosen to be the new Batman probably made this one even more popular. But truth is he has been in these Dior commercials (at least) since 2013 already and there are quite a few featuring him. The director here is Jonathan Alric, not too much to say about him. It is his very first credit as director according to imdb. The female protagonist (if you can even call her that given how it is all about Pattinson) is model Lana Zakocela. Anyway, this was released in early February this year, which means it is approximately 1.5 months old only and still it has racked up almost 10 million views. Impressive figure for sure. I would say it is okay at best, sometimes even slightly pretentious. Of course, the subject here is romance as we see Pattinson and Zakocela in several romantic situations, be it him kissing her passionately under a restaurant table (might wanna check that out and see how the personnel reacts) or holding her while she steps on something, basically lifting her almost. When the "highlight" happens here, namely we hear the words in the title, words that come from a certain song we see Pattinson look directly into the camera and he looks fairly wild there. By the way, don't be fooled by the photo here as this one is not in black-and-white. It is in color. Finally a few words on the song: This one is of course by one of my favorite artists of all time: Leonard Cohen. I am not sure if I like his music being used here as he is no longer with us, sadly died a few years ago, and I don't think he needs to gain new fans now because of something like this. It does feel a bit shallow to be honest. And using Cohen's music (really like the song, maybe that's why I thought it did not fit the video) is not a creative achievement by Dior or Alric whatsoever. I also kinda like Pattinson or at least I am not one of these who say he sucks because they still cannot see anything else other than Twilight when it comes to him, but truth is he has been part of quite a handful quality projects back then. This is not one of them. So this alone won't turn you into a Pattinson fan and also if you already are a normal fan, then this is not enough to appreciate the outcome either. You already must have a massive crush on him I suppose. After all, it is just a commercial and honestly it could have been for anything, not only any perfume, but actually any product really, which is why I would say they missed the markt here and barely made it above failure territory. I don't recommend checking this one out. The imdb rating is way too high and it does not deserve the big attention. I am glad it was this short. Watch something else instead.

Nauseating
adrayson1 January 2022
Just a dreadful advert. Comes across as egotistical and pretentious. Nauseating to watch. Can they not get more creative than this abysmal cologne spot?
