  Phil DeVille : So, you're just gonna leave me here by myself? Wasn't anyone even gonna *tell me*?

  Betty DeVille : Oh, boy. Twin problems come in twos.

  [puts down her exercise bike and touches Phil's right shoulder] 

  Betty DeVille : Calm down, Philly. All this happened kinda fast. Now, Lil gets her own room, but think about it! So do you!

  [wiggles her eyebrows] 

  Betty DeVille : *And* the computer stays here.

  [Lil collects the last of her clothes and leaves] 

  Betty DeVille : And now you got room for that basketball hoop you wanted. And you can paint the place any colour you feel like, 'cept tangerine 'cause it makes your father wig out.

  [Phil hangs his head; Betty kneels down to him] 

  Betty DeVille : It's not like ya lost her. She's just down the hall.

  [crash] 

  Howard DeVille : Ow!

  Betty DeVille : [stands up and leaves]  Snap out of it, Howie! Setting up my Thigh-O-Nara machine is a lot harder than plugging in your calculator.

  [Phil struts over to a wall and looks at photos of him and Lil growing up; the first one of them painting each other with purple markers; the second one of them in preschool failing to hit a piñata; the third one of them as babies playing with worms in the mud; Phil cries and slumps down on his bed; fade to black] 

• Dil Pickles : We're both suddenly twin less.

  Phil DeVille : Uh, Dil, you've never *been* a twin.

  Dil Pickles : Exactly.

• [a blanket devides Phil and Lil's bedroom in half; Lil poses in front of a mirror] 

  Lil DeVille : Hey, Dianne, what's up? Oh, hi, Brett. How you doing?

  Betty DeVille : [peeks around the blanket; deep voice]  I'm doin' pretty good.

  Lil DeVille : [jumps]  Ah!

  Betty DeVille : [normal voice]  Yeah, I get that a lot.

  Lil DeVille : What's up?

  Betty DeVille : [sits down on Lil's bed and offers her a seat]  Look, pup, here it is in a nutshell.

  [Lil sits down next to her] 

  Betty DeVille : Your father and I hate seeing you unhappy, and we wanna apologise for treatin' you and Philly like a single package all these years. You gotta cut us some slack. You two came into our world at the same time.

  Lil DeVille : [turns away and crosses her arms and legs]  *One of us* came two minutes earlier, thank you very much!

  Betty DeVille : And that same one's growing up a little faster, so lay it on me. What can your father and I do to make you, Lillian Marie Jill DeVille, feel like you have your own identity, huh?

  Lil DeVille : [thinks for a moment]  Hmm...
