A Familiar Lie is a great suspenseful drama full of tension and charismatic performances. Omar Gooding is a revelation in the lead role and Andre Roberson a filmmaker to follow.

The Worst.

Seriously the worst acting I have seen in years. You'd think Trae has had enough acting gigs that he wouldn't have to accept such trash. CLEARLY the high ratings were done by the ones practicing their acting in this movie. As fine as Trae is, there was no way I could finish watching this mess. I kept fast forwarding it to the end.
Modern day crime caper

A Familiar Lie is a bit of a fresh ubran exploration of the criminal underworld with elements of films like New Jack City and Boyz In the Hood, but with a lot of comedy thrown in for good measure. Things start to escalate when Camille suspects her husband is cheating on her and hires a private investigator to find out what he's doing behind her back. Drug deals go bad and Camille gets mixed up with the wrong people an original film that deftly blends comedy, crime and thrills for maximum results.
