Dark Souls is a series of titles known for being incredibly difficult and having a bleak atmosphere, setting, and narrative. It is, by all means, a lineup of games that are aimed towards a mature audience. It was also a series of titles that inspired many other studios to develop similar titles.
As one might expect, the titles that inspired FromSoftware and Hidetaka Miyazaki‘s brainchildren were also dark and grim, but there was also a title that might not fit that exact bill. Moreover, while the degree of similarity isn’t spectacular, it is undoubtedly uncanny and surprising.
An Mmo for all ages took inspiration from Dark Souls feature that isn’t talked about enough Soapstone messages in Dark Souls can be hilarious.

It is a known fact that video games made by Hidetaka Miyazaki are vast and great, which is something that has been proved once again by his latest release of Elden Ring. While the huge games bring with them a lot of stories to unpack, they unfortunately also bring some of the most uncanny and dark elements ever seen in the gaming industry.
One such element present in Bloodborne is the presence of a crying baby that appears in Nightmare within the game. The scene is responsible for making a lot of players uncomfortable and is ultimately part of what adds up to be the dark element of the game.

Hidetaka Miyazaki is often expected to explain certain aspects of his game whenever he does an interview.

Travis Kelce has left Taylor Swift fans confused and bewildered. In a recent “New Heights” podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce, the Super Bowl winner sent Swifties into a frenzy with what may or may not have been an innocent comment. Taylor Swift fans are now wondering what plans he and the superstar singer have in place.
The Podcast’s Backstory
It all started with a conversation about NBA player, Victor Wembanyama. Travis Kelci is convinced the professional basketball player, who is 7 ft 4 in tall was made in a “lab over there in France.” His brother suggested a “pituitary thing” instead.
Then, the conversation between the football-playing brothers got interesting. That was when Travis Kelce mentioned “lab-grown diamonds.” The next words out of his mouth caused Taylor Swift’s fans to lose their collective minds.

Praise the Mortis Gods! "The Acolyte" is giving us a reason to get excited about live-action "Star Wars" television again while we patiently await the second season of "Andor." After "The Mandalorian" season 3 saw its namesake frustratingly sidelined in favor of setting up Dave Filoni's larger New Republic arc and "Ahsoka" season 1 left me and others feeling like the convergence of live-action and animated "Star Wars" is a real mixed blessing, "Russian Doll" co-creator Leslye Headland is here to change things up. "The Acolyte" is set in the High Republic era, a period that's been explored in the ongoing High Republic publishing initiative but has never before been realized in live-action. That alone should be enough to pique the interest of anyone who's ready for a "Star Wars" series that's less beholden to setting up future shows and can exist more independently.
That's not to say "The Acolyte" will...

Muppet Babies is one of the rare 1980s animated shows that are not available to stream, and Jim Henson cartoonist Guy Gilchrist is revealing why.
During a recent appearance at L.A. Comic Con, Gilchrist gave some answers as to why the Muppet Babies was not available to stream on any of the digital platforms.
Gilchrist said it comes down to “copyrights and trademarks” as the reason why the show has not been able to get into a streaming service. The cartoonist said in an interview with Dennis Does LA that back in the 80s, there was “camaraderie” between the studios, something that doesn’t exist today amid the big corporate takeovers.
“Besides using the stuff that was in the public domain, like the silent stuff that we used in the dream sequences… Remember, the editing on that was incredibly wonderful. We used a lot of film clips from a lot of different things,...

On Aug. 11, twins Monroe and Moroccan had a sweet night out with their dad, Nick Cannon . . . literally. The twins, whom Cannon shares with ex Mariah Carey, joined their dad for the grand opening of Sugar Factory's Time Square location in New York City. In photos from the event, Monroe, Moroccan, and Cannon can be seen taking in the candy-filled sights and enjoying the musical stylings of singer Natti Natasha.
Natasha and Cannon served as cohosts for the event. On Instagram, Cannon shared a video of him and Natasha posing for a selfie together. "@nattinatasha we had the grand opening of @thesugarfactory New York Time Square Lit!!!" he captioned the video.

To understand just how long the TV Academy has struggled to define “comedy series,” look no further than the first decade or so of the category’s life: Between 1952, when Red Skelton’s titular variety show claimed Emmy’s first-ever comedy prize, and 1964, when The Dick Van Dyke Show scored its second win, the category had no fewer than six name changes, ranging from the terse “best comedy show” to the rather unwieldy “outstanding program achievement in the field of comedy.”
And it only grew more complicated from there. Unlike in the drama series category, whose contenders have been consistently hourlong and usually serialized, comedy competitors also started to assume widely different formats: multicam sitcom (All in the Family, Friends); single-camera, half-hour dramedy (The Wonder Years, Sex and the City); single-camera mockumentary (The Office, Modern Family); and hourlong ensemble dramedy (Orange Is the New Black, Shameless), to name a few.

This summer, “Barbie” has revived the box office, making nearly $500 million worldwide in its first week. Earlier this year, “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” surpassed the billion-dollar mark. If those two success are any indication, it seems that nostalgia sells — particularly nostalgia for classic toys and characters to which moviegoers have a personal connection.
“The Beanie Bubble” (streaming Friday on Apple TV+) centers around the Beanie Baby craze of the ’90s. But the movie is not really about Beanie Babies.

Pulp stopped in their hometown of Sheffield for a pair of shows on their reunion tour over the weekend. To make the second night even more special, they closed out the set by debuting an unreleased song called “Hymn of the North.”
“I can promise you that no one has ever heard this song except for us on this stage,” vocalist Jarvis Cocker said to the crowd while introducing the performance. “Actually that is a lie. It’s a song — a kind of version of it was featured in a play by a guy called Simon Stephens. And it’s called ‘Hymn of the North.’ So we are in the North, so we thought you should hear it first, Ok.”
Cocker continued by sharing that the band had “some lively discussions” about whether they should play the song live. “There’s a lot that could go wrong with it — I’m playing the piano,...

Pulp kicked off their long-awaited 2023 “This is What We Do For an Encore Tour” at the Bridlington Spa in Bridlington, England on May 26th. The newly-reunited Britpop icons played a set full of fan favorites and deep cuts, marking their first show in a decade: “We are Pulp — I’ve not said that for quite a long time,” vocalist Jarvis Cocker greeted the packed crowd.
Cocker and company tore through the majority of their 1995 masterpiece Different Class, opening with “I Spy” and saving their smash “Common People” until their first of two encores. The set also included some highlights from 1994’s His N Hers like “Do You Remember the First Time?” and “Babies”; deeper cuts like “Weeds” and “Glory Days”; and their 2013 single “After You.”
“An encore happens when the crowd makes enough noise to bring the band back to the stage,” the band said in a statement announcing the reunion last October.

From trans lives to celebrations of drag, queer film pulled no punches as it hit screens in the 90s with a DIY bravura that transformed the movie industry
Queer film exploded like a glitter cannon in the 1990s, sending sparkling product raining down in every direction. Trans lives hit the screen in Orlando and Boys Don’t Cry, alongside dynamic bulletins from the Black queer experience. We had jubilant celebrations of drag with Paris Is Burning and The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, provocations from New Queer Cinema in the shape of Poison, Swoon and Edward II; there were auteurist masterpieces and timeless coming-out stories. The Wachowski sisters, Lisa Cholodenko, François Ozon and Bruce Labruce all made their debuts; Pedro Almodóvar and Gus Van Sant went stratospheric. When you’ve stolen Glastonbury, defined an era, released the album of the decade and exploded Michael Jackson’s cheesy pop pomposity on the global stage, what exactly do you do for an encore? Such was the dilemma facing Jarvis Cocker – arch Britpop voyeur, poet laureate of the fumbled bra-strap and Jesus sandal, once memorably described as a cross between Alan Bennett and Barry White – as he sat in hotel rooms on the tour for 1995’s masterpiece Different Class. There he was, shrouded in the anonymous dark, watching pornographic films and relating deeply to the blankness in the eyes of the performers.

When the water rushed into New Orleans, breaching the levees, residents say it sounded like an explosion. A boom, and then a bang. The noise came late in the night, hours after the city imposed a curfew for those who hadn’t evacuated. Silence followed the burst, an eerie inauguration for the incoming flood.
Nearly everyone interviewed in Edward Buckles Jr.’s deeply affecting and sad HBO documentary Katrina Babies remembers the water — the menacing way it engulfed the streets and crept up the sides of homes, forcing people to seek shelter in attics and roofs. Recalling the details of those uncertain August days, Buckles’ interviewees are calm and matter-of-fact: “It sounded like the apocalypse,” says Arnold Burks, who was 13 years-old at the time. Outside his window, debris, animals and traffic signs flew by, and the trees looked “like they were about to come out of the ground.

And just like that, winter has come again. HBO Max’s list of new releases for August 2022 is highlighted by the return of the king. Or more accurately: the return of the queen … of the Seven Kingdoms.
Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon is set to premiere on HBO and HBO Max on Aug. 21, just over three years after Game of Thrones concluded in controversial fashion with “The Iron Throne.” This new series is a prequel, depicting the civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons from George R.R. Martin’s lore. When dragon fights dragon, the realm will be torn asunder. But the viewer will certainly delight in all the Targaryen action.

Netflix’s investment in animation has paid off in a big way, as the streamer picked up a whopping 52 nominations at the 49th Annie Awards. Following behind is Disney, which received 29 bids between its film and TV projects.
Taking place on Feb. 26, 2022 at UCLA’s Royce Hall and presented by the Los Angeles branch of the International Animated Film Association, the Annie Awards recognize excellence in cinema and television.
Netflix picked up nine nominations for “Arcane,” its series based on Riot Games’ online multiplayer game “League of Legends.” The hit film from Sony Pictures Animation “The Mitchells vs. The Machines” earned eight nods, and Netflix’s own limited series “Maya and the Three,” directed by Jorge Gutierrez, has seven.
While Disney lagged behind Netflix for total nominations, the studio’s “Raya and the Last Dragon” led all content with 10 nominations, followed by its studio sibling “Encanto,” which picked up nine.

Exclusive: HBO Documentary Films is in production on Katrina Babies, a feature documentary offering an intimate look at the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and its impact on the youth of New Orleans.
Sixteen years after the disaster of Hurricane Katrina, long after the news cameras have left, an entire generation grapples with the lifelong impact of having their childhood redefined by tragedy. New Orleans filmmaker Edward Buckles, Jr., who was 12 when Katrina hit the city, documents the stories of his peers who survived the storm as children, while simultaneously opening a door for his own healing, capturing the spirit and resilience of New Orleans.
“After my family and I experienced Hurricane Katrina in 2005, we were left to pick up the pieces of a situation that seemed totally out of our control. I was 12 years old, and like with many catastrophes, children were an afterthought,” Buckles, Jr. said. “It baffled me...

Tales Of The Nightwatchman: "In a city overrun by the supernatural, the Spectral Eye gang--made up of three baristas: the aspiring journalist Nora, the tent-dwelling vagrant Serena, and the unflappable Charlie, a.k.a the Night Watchman--takes up the charge to keep things under control. But, um, be prepared to wait for that cortado. It's gonna be a minute."
About the Series
"Tales of the Night Watchman was created by Dave Kelly & Lara Antal. This issue was one of three published right before Covid, so we're planning to come back strong in print and digital this year. It marks a new creative direction and is a great jumping-on point for readers. This is the first time anything from the series has been available on ComiXology. "The Final Kill," along with the Red Hook crossover, will lead directly into the upcoming, brand-new story arc "A Dream of Death."

The Emmy Awards ballot for Best Variety Series Directing lists 31 episodes, so there will be only five nominees in this category for the first time in three years, under the new Emmy rules. Under the proportional-representation rules for this category, two slots are reserved for the 16 submitted episodes of sketch series, two are reserved for the 15 submitted talk series and the last slot is a free-for-all. The six nominees last year were:
“Documentary Now!” (Alex Buono & Rhys Thomas): “Waiting for the Artist” “Drunk History” (Derek Waters): “Are You Afraid of the Drunk?” “Last Week Tonight” (Paul Pennolino): “Psychics” “The Late Show” (Jim Hoskinson): “Live Midterm Election Show” Winner — “Saturday Night Live” (Don Roy King): “Host: Adam Sandler” “Who is America?” (Sacha Baron Cohen & Nathan Fielder & Daniel Gray Longino & Dan Mazer): “Episode 102”
There is a new rule this year that only two co-directors can be credited per submission.

At long last, Netflix subscribers will be able to see which of the streaming service’s series and films are getting the most traction. The streaming service is adding a “Top 10” row to its homepage, which will be updated every day to note the most popular titles within the subscriber’s country.
Netflix announced the addition in a blog post on the company’s website Monday. Subscribers will be able to sort the list by overall Top 10 Netflix titles, the streaming service’s 10 most popular television series, and its 10 most popular films. Phoebe Waller-Bridge‘s global takeover continued in earnest late Saturday, with the Brit auteur’s tragicomic Amazon series Fleabag dominating the 2019 Television Critics Association Awards with three trophies, including best comedy series, best comedic performer (for Waller-Bridge) and the coveted Program of the Year. Waller-Bridge, who in addition to being Fleabag‘s titular star also is the show’s creator/writer/EP, was on hand for the non-televised ceremony, which was hosted by Desus & Mero. (Could a Fleabag Emmy sweep be next?)
Waller-Bridge has previously stated that Fleabag‘s now-TCA award winning second season would serve as the series’ swan song.
