Not bad...
kensoward24 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
So, I'm starting to see how this is really just Teela's journey, working her way through her emotions of betrayal and down the path of the reluctant hero. I see why they went in this direction, and the side-journey is kinda fun. The motivation of her side-kick and Evil-Lyn in search of the two parts of the sword made sense to me.

I can see where it's headed though. Teela will end up with the sword and likely become Master of the Universe. Which begs the question, will she quit that job, too? :) I'm just kidding around, hehe. Anyway, let's see where it leads us.

It's not as bad as people are saying. BUT... it's more of a Masters of the Universe side-story. I guess that's why they didn't title it "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe."

On to episode 3....

Watchable enough, it's not great.
Sleepin_Dragon20 August 2021
Teela is now operating as muscle for hire, her and new partner are given a mission, the brains and brawn are off to help an old lady, recovering a goblet.

I've seen plenty of comments, and reviews of this being the decline, there seemed to be an almost universal opinion that Teela was somehow awful, I'll give an honest opinion.

I find sometimes there is too much of a need to politicise almost every show that's made, ultimately it's here for a new audience, as opposed to people like me who grew up watching it, for me it's a sense of nostalgia, it is what it is, an adventure cartoon. One that looks fantastic, the animations are tremendous, and somehow fit the original series.

Teela, yes they've given her a huge physique, and an attitude problem, society has changed hugely in the last forty years, she was never going to be portrayed as she was back then, foolish to think old stereotypes would carry into 2021.

We all know where the producers are, those that can't deal with it still have the classics to watch.

The main issue here though, where exactly is He Man, was he not the main player, his absence was disappointing.

It's better than some of the savage reviews would make you think, but it's far from perfect.

Ok, 6/10.

I don't know what everyone is complaining about
osirismalkovich-2549426 July 2021
This show is fun. It's got the adventurous spirit of the original, but an updated sensibility. It's a new take on the same grand, incredibly cheesy show from the 80s. And make no mistake, the original show was INCREDIBLY CHEESY.

Either fans of the old show are mis-remembering it (it was 40 years ago, so you know they're all old men now) or they take their 'love' of He-Man WAY too seriously. Either way, they're being too hard on what remains a 22 minute ad for surplus Conan action figures.

Ideological Decline
blr-btc24 July 2021
Just as I was told and suspected to be true....

Modern day execs feel they can muck around with time tested characters and conform them into their own image.

Teela gets an attitude, bulging muscles and an undercut.

There's so much other work you activists can push feminism tropes in DONT do it with an 80s cartoon that all of us want to see reproduced with modern animation techniques.

No glove no love line was clever enough to be hidden from children's ears and mildly funny, please don't make a habit of trying too hard to be funny, that's not what HeMan is.

Another excellent chapter in a great series!

Forget the haters; I'm not sure they ever understood the full scope of Masters. This cartoon is an amazing continuation of the stories we all knew from television, comics, and the toys, and now we finally get to watch new adventures (good ones, not that weird first into space we took in '89!) unfolds with our kids. Most importantly, my daughter is loving this show. #moremotu Check it out!

I couldn't finish this episode
bdbeckstrand27 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Horrible direction for Teela. It isn't good writing. I am just confused by the whole story. Castle Grayskull/magic is gone?, Adam is gone?, Skeletor is gone?, and Moss Man dispatched into ash. Teela was a white red-head that actually looked feminine in the cartoon, but she could still fight. Now she is a muscle-bound Amazonian with a masculine haircut (but her father is somehow still white). She threw a temper tantrum when she was "lied to" about Adam and quit her new role as (Wo)Man-at-Arms. Stupid. I turned this episode off in the middle because I don't want to see a He-Man show without He-Man. I didn't recognize the character they made with Teela, either. It made no sense at all and I lost interest in the weak story about technology replacing magic. The show was unrecognizable to me at this point.

Erm..... where is He-Man
dominicparis26 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Totally absent of He-Man, this series is fast becoming disappointing to say the least. It's hyper-feminist and feels more like I'm watching She-Ra. I'm not against feminism but it's thrust in our face here for the sake of it being 2021 and massively overdone. One more episode like this one and I'm switching off.

Err, what?
Shlomas24 July 2021
I was very excited about the trailer and wasn't sure if it was a reboot or follow on. Love the animation style which is very similar and a little more crisp.

There are few changes and developments which you expect. I don't mind the change of Cringer's voice or that he has more lines. What I was expecting is a little more Prince Adam. This could have been taken a drastic change of genre (aka Sabrina or Riverdale) or made Adam and Teela more of a buddy team thing. The way Teela becomes a gun for hire is a bit out of character and clumsy, and actually quite unlikeable especially with SMG doing the voice. Maybe it could have stayed the same but with an interweaving story of Adam and Skeletor's situation, with both parties trying to get to each other.

I'm sure many men are outraged at the thought of this being woke media, but I do think that this was a clumsy attempt at a new POV.

We've watched 2 episodes and I can't see us watching anymore, which is a real shame. This could have been so much better.

This is bad even for LGBTQ community.
shivtrivedi-st24 August 2021
You can not thrust down food to your full tummy, same way too much feminism is bad, this is a he-man show where there is no he man. Male and female are genetically different we can not say for every thing that they should be compared equally. For some things female is superior and for some is male. W.

What have you done to Teela
scotttaylorsemail10 August 2021
This .. is NOT Teela. This series is so damn painful to watch. Such great potential .. nice artwork .. great voice cast but utterly RUINED by garbage tier writing .. turning Teela into a man?!? Remember when Teela was a woman? .. I do.

Whoever the hell this whiny cow is .. with his square jaw and biceps bigger than Dolph lundgrens?!? .. this is not the character.

Needed more He-Man ... in this He-Man show. And you can sod right off if you think you're gonna tell me 'Well it's Master of the universe .. not He-Man' ... Masters of the Universe IS He-Man.
