In the shot where Fugitive is speaking to McHale on the telephone, you can see the shadow of the camera boom moving and film crew moving around in the background near the bushes....

This episode should provide anti-nausea medication.

This episode began is such a wonderful manner that the viewer was sure this was going to be one of the better shows. It seems that Binghamton has orders from the Admiral that all Chief-Petty Officers are to be shipped out. So what Binghamton does is give a quick test to all eligible men, including the men of the 73, and behold a little working the scores and the entire crew of the 73 has passed the test. Binghamton advises that all five are shipping out ASAP.

With the crew of the 73 gone, McHale and Parker are to be reassigned. This means the end of PT 73 so the Captain is going to use it as target practice. Ensign Parker does not want to see the 73 treated so poorly so he sets off, by himself, to search for Japanese submarines. McHale has to find Chuck before he is killed.

So far the show is moving along nicely. Then the writers murder the show by having Ensign Parker so incompetent that it becomes painful to watch. Tim Conway is one of the best in personal comedy but this performance was so utterly obnoxious that the whole situation makes a person queasy. With Parker yelling into the radio in a voice that sounded like a teenager moving into puberty, and the fact that bombs were exploding could not even stir a clue that he may have found the enemy, makes for a disappointing attempt at humor. And then to make matters even worse, the Ensign all of the sudden does not know where the buttons to control the boat are located. I could just scream! This episode was agonizing and bitter to watch.
