When a man named Don Cook is found dead on the road with his car and himself set on fire, DA Madeline Klein asks Ecklie by phone to send Grissom to investigate the crime scene. Don was a witness of one of the murders committed by the notorious La Tijera gang member Emilio Alvarado, and now the case is compromised. However, Grissom is resting at home with influenza. Brass, Catherine, Greg, Nick and Warrick investigate the crime scene while Catherine is Grissom's eyes and ears, talking to him and sending photos. They also find that Don was gunshot to his back and the rear bumper is marked with "LAT", meaning La Tiera. Brass interview Don's wife, Cody, and then he visits Grissom and tells him that he promised to protect Don and his wife if he testifies in court. When Warrick finds a gun in the glove compartment of the burned car, there is a twist in the investigation.
"Grissom's Divine Comedy" is a great episode of "CSI", with many twists along the story. There are few coincidences, like the gunshot that killed Don Cook, but most of the work of the CSI's are engaging. Great also to see Bonnie Bedelia in the role of an efficient District Attorney that commits a mistake while performing her work. My vote is eight.
