The key role of Danny was originally given to Benjamin Kroger. However when another of Ben's film shoots ran long and he was suddenly unavailable, the producers brought in promising newcomer Anthony Nuccio to play the good-guy detective.
This was the first film for budding Director Paul Anthony McLean. After years spent in front of the camera, he was looking for a new challenge. He co-wrote this film with friend David Dalton.
The guns used in the film were real. The producers required the cast to show up hours before the shoot to take safety lessons from a retired police officer who was hired to be the gun handler. The shots fired during the shoot were blanks - carefully loaded by the officer.
