I don't think today or future audiences know how big the 4-year-old Jordy was back in 1992 with this smash hit. I had the same age of his when he broke into the
musical world and this single was all over the place for like a year after its release. It vanished from the collective culture, only big fans kept hearing over the
decades yet I had his name recorded in my mind for a long time and kept wondering what happened to him. He had another songs for a time then he disappeared from media. Celebrating 30 years of its release and now it gets a review here.
A quite common dance song but instead of hearing a trained vocalist we have a lovely young kid singing about how tough is to be a baby. As for the musical video that I just watched recently, Jordy has some fun while with his confused parents, trying to amuse him or creating some confusion (the dad's wig falls off at one point) and later one when they meet another couple, friends of theirs, they bring their daughter and with Jordy they have a special moment for themselves.
Song is catchy and very repetitive though it's not something I have in my playlist (just nostalgia factor of a long gone time speaking higher), video has some fun parts but it's nothing so spectacular to become memorable. If you're here, you definitely lived that era or it's just a curiosity thing since Jordy still holds the Guinness Record of youngest artist to ever a #1 hit single on the charts. It's very cool. 6/10.
