Priyanka Chopra-Produced Doc Debuting On Prime Video India
Women of My Billion (Womb), a documentary about the forms of violence faced by women in India, will premiere exclusively on Prime Video India on May 3. Produced by Apoorva Bakshi and Monisha Thyagarajan’s Awedacious Originals in association with Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ Purple Pebble Pictures, the documentary follows protagonist Srishti Bakshi on a walking pilgrimage across India – spanning 3,800 km over 240 days – to talk to women from various backgrounds about their struggles and dreams. “Women have borne the brunt of gender bias for far too long, enduring a silent struggle against entrenched social injustices that seek to suppress their voices. With Womb, the aim is to transcend these struggles – to be a beacon of hope,” said Chopra Jonas, Producer at Purple Pebble Pictures. “Womb is not merely a depiction of pain and suffering, but a rallying cry and call for solidarity and action.

General Hospital spoilers tease that Ava Jerome (Maura West) and Nina Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) have seemingly become thick as thieves over the last few years. But given their history, it’s kind of shocking that Ava would want anything to do with Nina.
In fact, Ava would typically be out for revenge for much less than what Nina did to her several years back. But has Ava been biding her time, just waiting for the time to strike and get the ultimate revenge?
Typically, Ava seems more like an instant gratification type but perhaps taking Nina down required a bit more.
General Hospital Spoilers – Nina Corinthos Stole Ava Jerome’s Baby From The womb!
As viewers may recall, Nina spent twenty years in a come. She was married to Silas Clay (Michael Easton) but he had an affair with Ava which produced a child, Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin). Nina wasn...

In a not-so-distant future where AI’s omnipresence rivals the air we breathe, director Sophie Barthes paints a thought-provoking canvas in The Pod Generation. Set in a world where technology has woven itself intricately into the fabric of life, the film spirals through the lives of Rachel (Emilia Clarke) and Alvy (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a couple torn between the allure of technology and the grip of tradition. This sci-fi flick promises a mind-bending ride but ends up feeling like a futuristic roller coaster that forgot to pick up enough speed.
The Pod Generation offers a cinematic glimpse into a world overshadowed by technological advancement. With a backdrop reminiscent of Black Mirror and the theme of pregnancy and motherhood in The Handmaid’s Tale, the movie sets the stage for a dystopian drama that sends shivers down your spine while whispering eerie truths about our society’s trajectory. AI is boss, making our...

Walt Disney’s Pixar Animation Studios cut 75 positions last week, including two executives who worked on the financial disappointment “Lightyear,” Reuters reported Saturday.
Angus MacLane, director of the unsuccessful “Toy Story” spinoff and a 26-year animation veteran who was part of the creative team behind hits like “Toy Story 4” and “Coco,” was included in the cuts. Gayln Susman, a producer on the film who had been at Pixar since 1995, was also removed from her role.
A representative for Pixar didn’t immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.
“Lightyear” grossed just over $226 million worldwide at the box office when it was released last June, but cost $200 million to produce.

Singer, songwriter, and producer Melanie Martinez makes sleek, dark pop with a satiric edge and real emotional bite. Martinez debuted with her fantastic 2015 LP Cry Baby, a concept album about a young girl who gets kidnapped and eventually kills her captor that’s full of sparkling, self-aware tunes like “Pacify Her” and “Dollhouse.” She followed it with 2019’s K-12, as well as a feature film of the same name, building a devoted cult following in the process. The Star Wars canon is nothing if not its own galaxy’s worth of characters, stories, and other information. “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” premiering May 27 on Disney+, brings back the eponymous fan favorite, but that doesn’t mean viewers can rewatch the prequels and call it a day before venturing into this series (many would probably rather not).
The character of Obi-Wan Kenobi has ties to the original Star Wars trilogy and prequels, as well as events and characters from the animated “Clone Wars” and “Rebels” series, both of which are available on Disney+. But if you don’t have time to watch — *checks notes* — 11 seasons of TV ahead of “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” fear not. Here’s a quick rundown of all the characters confirmed for the series, as well as a handful we might see from the wider Star Wars universe.

At the age of fourteen, Belmaya Nepali had the opportunity to be part of the My World My View photography project, led by Sue Carpenter. It seemed an energizing and uplifting moment for this young woman, though the joy of it was short-lived. The home for girls in Pokhara, where Belmaya lived, took away the camera, and Belmaya sank into a life of struggle, poverty, and abuse. Married young, uneducated, lower caste, with a young daughter and a husband with deeply rooted patriarchal ideas, Belmaya’s life turns into one that is deeply challenging.
But Sue Carpenter re-entered Belmaya’s life, co-directing this inspiring documentary alongside its subject, Belmaya. In 2014, Belmaya had the opportunity to be involved in a filmmaking training course, and Carpenter follows her experience. The film gives us a view of her shots alongside Belmaya’s, allowing viewers to follow Belmaya as she navigates this experience and...

No one said becoming a crime lord on Tatooine would be easy. Yet, Boba Fett thought it would be as simple as killing Bib Fortuna and taking a seat on Jabba the Hutt’s old throne. But as The Book of Boba Fett shows, that road is in fact a very bumpy one.
The new daimyo of Mos Espa expected all of Jabba’s former subordinates to bow down and pay tribute. Not everyone is so easily swayed. In “The Tribes of Tatooine,” Boba and Fennec Shand face quite a bit of resistance from a few unexpected villains. Plus, in the flashback portion of the episode, Boba comes face to face with one of the most powerful criminal organizations in the galaxy.

This Star Wars: The Bad Batch article contains spoilers.
Despite being called The Bad Batch, much of the story of the latest Star Wars animated series actually revolves around Omega, a mysterious clone who runs away from Kamino and the Empire with Clone Force 99 at the start of the show. Once just a medical assistant working in the cloning facilities, Omega is now a fugitive on the run from both Imperial forces hunting the Bad Batch and the bounty hunters sent by the Kaminoans to retrieve her. Along the way, Omega learns to defend herself, becomes closer to the rough-around-the-edges clone mutants of Clone Force 99, and begins to discover what makes her so special.
From her very first introduction, it was easy to see there was something different about Omega. Even though Omega’s a clone born on Kamino like the rest of the clone army, it’s explained...

This Star Wars: The Bad Batch article contains spoilers.
Rumors of a big cameo surrounded The Bad Batch in the days leading up to its eighth episode and “Reunion” doesn’t disappoint. The show has thus far worn its ties to The Clone Wars on its sleeve, down to its very protagonists, characters who were first formally introduced in season 7 of the Prequel era-set animated series. But it’s this cameo that solidifies The Bad Batch‘s place as a straight up sequel to The Clone Wars.
“Reunion” is a race against time to escape the Republic scrapyards of Bracca. Crosshair and a platoon of stormtroopers have the Bad Batch cornered inside the wreckage of an old Jedi cruiser and there’s little chance of an escape this time. But this is Star Wars, which means the heroes pull off the impossible by blowing up part of the cruiser’s engine,...

Yet, for star Ewan McGregor, who reprises his legacy role from those films, a surreal confluence has been created over the presence of a certain monochromatic army: stormtroopers. Indeed, while he’s spent his share of screen time with clone troopers, there’s something about being around the Empire’s armored legion that has McGregor feeling childlike.
The star, who has been shooting Obi-Wan Kenobi since its pandemic-delayed production launched this past April, took some time to participate in a mostly Star Wars-centric “Actors-on-Actors” Variety interview with fellow franchise star Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian). While the two wax ecstatic about their respective shows, McGregor—more so than Pascal—is clearly walking a tightrope regarding what he can discuss, seeing as Disney...

Skybound Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television’s Skybound Galactic joint venture have partnered with Italy’s Fabula to produce an Italian-language TV series adaptation of the Skybound/Image comic book “Clone.”
The young Italian screenwriters’ collective known as Grams, which wrote Netflix Italian original “Baby,” will adapt and showrun the live action series.
The comic book, created by David Schulner, follows Luke Taylor, whose life is interrupted when an identical, bloodied version of himself shows up at his home. The clone informs Luke that he’s one of a batch of clones who are all out to capture his pregnant wife and their unborn child.
Writing team Grams comprises Antonio Le Fosse, Eleonora Trucchi, Marco Raspanti, Giacomo Mazzariol and Romulo Emmanuel Salvador, who also worked on “Baby” with Fabula, the expanding Rome-based company headed by Nicola De Angelis and controlled by France’s Federation Entertainment.

The second episode of The Bad Batch was had a pace so quick you’d expect it to be half as long as it actually was as Clone Force 99 made their way to the planet of Saleucami to meet with a desert by the name of Cut Lawquane, a clone that served with Captain Rex, the man that the clones were hoping to get a hold of. However, upon landing on Saleucami it’s immediately discovered that the Empire is increasing its presence through the galaxy, and the ability to simply leave the planet on a shuttle becomes more difficult when

The Bad Batch is the newest animated chapter in the Star Wars saga. Set immediately after Revenge of the Sith, the show explores the rise of the Empire from the perspective of a group of “genetically mutated” clones who never fit in with their own kind and fit in even less after Order 66. Unlike the rest of the Clone Army, the members of Clone Force 99 (the official designation of the group nicknamed “The Bad Batch”) are unaffected by the secret inhibitor chips implanted in their brains, which quickly puts a target on their back, especially after they refuse to execute Jedi on the battlefield.
Clone Force 99 find themselves in the middle of a sea change they don’t fully understand, as Palpatine declares himself Emperor and the Clone Army turns evil. To make matters worse, Admiral Tarkin (the future Grand Moff of A New Hope) sees the clone forces as...

It’s May, and when it comes to entertainment, that means only one thing: the beginning of the summer movie season. Except maybe not this year. While theaters have started to stir back to life and resume business as usual as more of the moviegoing public gets vaccinated and feels safe returning to theaters, for the second year in a row the summer movie season has been punted a little down the road.
Sure, there are some movies coming out, some compelling-looking ones, too. But it now looks like the...

The Bad Batch is the next Star Wars animated series, a direct sequel to The Clone Wars that brings back the colorful characters of Clone Force 99. The series finds elite clone troopers Hunter, Echo, Tech, Wrecker, and Crosshair struggling to fit into the newly-established Empire in the days after the war. While the mutations that made them unique proved to be a boon for the Clone Army of the Republic, the Empire isn’t so welcoming.
A new trailer for the show teases that the titular heroes, whose squad of clone misfits is literally referred to as “the Bad Batch,” will end up at odds with their new masters, specifically Grand Moff Tarkin, who wants them wiped out. True to form, the Bad Batch aren’t about to just stand there and let it happen. It seems that they’re off on a rip-roaring adventure after their fallout with the Empire.

Hungarian auteur Bence Fliegauf made a head-turning debut in 2003 with his microbudget portmanteau drama “Forest,” which strung together a series of intensely performed two-hander vignettes depicting relationships in various forms of crisis. As a collection of miniatures, it promised intriguing things from Fliegauf, once given a larger canvas to work with — a promise largely fulfilled by such variously ambitious, unusual works as his Eva Green-starring sci-fi oddity “Womb,” the shattering massacre study “Just the Wind” and the mournful, reality-blurring mood piece “Lily Lane.”
In returning to the formal and thematic terrain of “Forest” for a standalone spiritual sequel, however, the director has taken an odd step backwards. Intermittently impressive on a granular level, “Forest – I See You Everywhere” is another claustrophobic collage of human dysfunction, jumping between heady themes of grief, abuse and retribution — though it never exceeds the sum of its many parts, lacking its predecessor’s vital shock of the new.

It’s 2006. James Bond, as rendered in this particular iteration by franchise newcomer Daniel Craig, is on a train to Montenegro as he prepares for his upcoming mission: a poker tournament, where he will compete against the notorious private banker and criminal mastermind known as Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen). However, there’s one factor Bond hasn’t taken into account, and it’s the well-dressed woman in a business suit who elegantly sits herself across from him in the train car. But Vesper Lynd (Eva Green) isn’t merely the agent to the British Treasury that she asserts herself to be — over the course of the story she’ll become the first woman that Bond truly, deeply gives his heart to, as well as the first one to subsequently break said heart. Hers is a role that demands assertiveness and vulnerability, a captivating beauty with a keen mind, and someone...

Today’s a good day to be a Star Wars fan, as Lucasfilm announced a whole handful of new TV series set in that galaxy far, far away that are coming to Disney Plus in the not-so-distant future. Most of these aren’t at the stage to reveal footage yet, but we did get our first trailer for Star Wars: The Bad Batch, the next animated show from the makers of The Clone Wars and Rebels.

The 80-second sizzle reel offers an action-packed tease at the likes of Crosshair, Echo and Clone Sergeant Hunter getting into scrapes across the cosmos in the wake of the rise of the Empire. It may have suffered a short delay – no doubt due to the game’s ridiculously large scope – but Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga already appears to be absolutely rammed with content. Featuring environments, stories and characters from all three of the franchise’s distinctly different trilogies, developer Traveller’s Tales clearly wants to make sure that no fan is left wanting when release day rolls around.

In the epic four-part finale of The Clone Wars, the explosive events of Order 66 finally allowed the series to merge with Revenge of the Sith. The finale was, of course, the ending of this specific series, but it was also a confluence of other aspects of the Star Wars saga, which — from a certain point of view — included a bit of retconning. Because the finale intersected with Revenge of the Sith and showed what Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi were up to right before the Battle of Coruscant, the series permanently over-wrote Genndy Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars series from 2003-2005.

Star Wars fans tend to think that the reason we don’t see Jedi Knights fighting side by side the Rebellion in the Original Trilogy era is because of Order 66, but creator George Lucas has a different explanation.
By the end of the Clone Wars, Palpatine’s evil plan came to fruition. Darth Sidious issued Order 66, compelling the entire Grand Army of the Republic to hunt down and kill the Jedi. Shortly afterward, Anakin took the 501st to storm the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, killing dozens of Jedi Masters, Knights, Padawans and younglings. At the end of Revenge of the Sith, only a handful of Jedi Knights were left alive, including Grand Master Yoda and Obi-Wan.
As such, we’ve seen that in the war against the Galactic Empire, there aren’t a lot of Force-wielding light side warriors to help the Rebellion out. Of course, we’d always assumed...

Although Ahsoka Tano is the true start of The Clone Wars season 7, the Star Wars animated series returned with a four-episode opening arc starring Clone Force 99, a squad of enhanced clone troopers also known as “the Bad Batch.” Essentially a group of soldiers with special abilities that make them more effective than traditional troopers, the Bad Batch was created by George Lucas, who wanted to play around with the idea that some clones were more unique than others.
The team is made up of Wrecker, who has enhanced strength; Crosshair, whose enhanced eyesight makes him an excellent marksman; Tech, who has enhanced intelligence; and Hunter, who has enhanced senses. Their unique traits also extend to their physical appearance and voices, which further separates them from their clone brethren, who the Bad Batch referred to as “regs.”
