Flavio gets sidelined in this episode
mistymountain30 November 2008
In this episode, Diego, very well-played by Flavio Insinna, gets shot during a bank robbery, while trying to protect a little girl. He ends up in the hospital, and his ex-girlfriend, police psychologist, Lorenza, played by Luisa Corna, (who I forgot to include her in the regular cast in the general review of this show, as well as Giulietta Revel, who plays the lead carabinieri policewoman.) ends up saving Diego's life by donating blood, since his bullet injuries were life-threatening. This is probably one of the 2 only episodes where you'll see Flavio's bare chest. In ICU, Herminia, Diego's mama, played by Giovanna Ralli, reminds him of the time that his father was murdered during a bank robbery. While he's recuperating in his hospital room, Diego has a recurring nightmare of himself as a young boy. It's circa 1977, Diego looks like he could've been 12 at the time. On an outing with his dad, the young Diego's treated to a gelatto, then his father promises that the trip to the bank will be a quick one. Suddenly, a bank robber fatally shoots Diego's dad. Little Diego witnesses the murder, and now we know that Diego's watch that you see, had belonged to his dad. With Diego out of commission, Stella and the detectives try to figure out who robbed the bank and shot Diego. Stella also reluctantly accepts Lorenza's help. Diego starts to develop cabin fever and walks out of the hospital on his own accord to try to solve the crime, which he is successul after all.
