In the personal ad that Wallander's daughter posted for him, the first item listed under "My Ideal Partner" is "You have a curious mind".
Jeany Spark (Linda Wallander) & Sarah Smart (Anne-Britt Hoglund) also worked together on episode 1.5, Spot the Difference (2011), of Death in Paradise (2011) as Emilie Saunders & Suzie Park respectively.
Kurt looks at his phone on the way to the date he is late to, and it says 19-Jun-2008, and then the radio announcer says that it is Midsummer's Eve, the longest day of the year. This is correct, because Midsummer's Day itself in Sweden is always on the Friday between the nineteenth and twenty sixth of June, and the next day was indeed Friday the 20th of June, 2008. This appears to differ a bit from the Summer Solstice, which is the longest day of the year physically, while Midsummer is the day on which it is celebrated. One version of this is that the Solstice is June 21 or 22 each year in the Northern Hemisphere. All of this explains why, later on, it is partially light around midnight at the ATM in the centre of Ystad, but only because it is the middle of summer.
