Not my thing, but it's well made.

This documentary is all about telescopes--the history of them, modern advances and the like. Now I will admit up front that I am not the best person to review this film, as I have little interest in astronomy. The way I see it, there's no way we'll ever make it to other planets outside our solar system (the distance is so much greater than most people think)--so what's the point. As I said, I am not the best person to review the film since I don't see much practical application for bigger and more expensive telescopes. But, if you are interested, it IS well made and rather complete. You see the many different types and the discussion is very nice (even if the narrator's voice is a bit too peaceful and relaxing for me). Well made.

Nothing new under or over the sun - but intriguing to watch

This presentation is a synopsis of telescopes as interments from concept to concept. It cannot possibly cover everything and does not need to. But there is enough verbal information and pictures to hold your attention for the hour and possibly show you something you did not know. Of course, it is now dated but if you are still remembering the physics of your school days, you are in for some new thoughts.

Bottom line is that you will not be disappointed and better still intrigued with 400 years of the telescope. And find yourself asking does dark matter?
