- A woman is seen physically abusing her youngest daughter by dragging her out of a room. The girl cries out in pain and the door is slammed in her face. Clearly distressed and angry, the young girl then screams at her mother and sister.
- The tone of the film feels very realistic. The abusive relationships that exist may trigger some viewers.
- A frail and seemingly ill horse is thought to have been abused by her owners, we soon learn from the owner that "it's not what it looks like" and the horse is in fact very old. Eventually the horse passes away. May be upsetting for some viewers, especially to see the animal chained up in such an unsuited environment.
- A teenage girl headbutts another teenage girl and breaks her nose. Blood is seen.

- A man has consensual sex with a 15-year-old girl (though we don't know her age until after the event). The scene starts with the girl dancing and the man watching her on the couch. He invites her to sit on the couch next to him. She lays her head on his shoulder and they start kiss. He lays her on the couch as they keep kissing. The man takes off her pants and slides down his jeans. She is not wearing panties and her pubic hair is briefly visible. He gets between her legs and is implied to penetrate her. As they're doing it, he asks her: "it doesn't feel the same with your boyfriend, right?" and "is his cock this big?" (she answers "no" to both). Some moaning and mild thrusting. He climaxes quickly, then fastens his pants.

Frightening & Intense Scenes
- After her mothers boyfriend flees, Mia tracks him down at his house but is quickly taken back to the train station. She visits the house soon after and breaks in when no one is home. After looking around she quickly learns that he has a partner and a young daughter. This scene is quite intense as Mia is clearly in shock and proceeds to urinate on the floor. Mia is then shocked by the sound of the door opening and promptly leaves without being seen.
- A teenager impulsively kidnaps a young girl seemingly due to shock and confusion. The young girl becomes very frightened and wants to go back home. She is dragged around for a while then after kicking and screaming at the teenager she is pushed into the sea and risks drowning- the girl is then pulled out and is taken home. The scene is very realistic and can feel disturbing.
- The film involves a man in (consensual) sexual situations with a 15-year-old girl, and some may find the theme disturbing.
- A mother is heard casually admitting to her eldest daughter that she was close to having an abortion when pregnant with her. There is no reaction from Mia when this is said- suggesting that this is usual treatment from her mother. Quite upsetting.
