Chaz is show once briefly, and a woman with similar-looking glasses to his and Chuckie's is shown with him briefly. It is never explained if this is his wife/Chuckie's mother, and even if it is, later seasons claim Chuckie's mother died when he was younger.

In the second segment of the show, Stu and Didi take Tommy along with them to meet Mr. Mucklehoney for dinner, where in a short time Tommy laces the client's soup with hot sauce. Mr. Mucklehoney later identifies it as the brand Tabasco, the maker of which is the McIlhenny Company. It is undetermined whether or not the similarity of names are purely coincidental; it would, however, appear that a certain homage is being paid.
A the end of "Barbeque," we see a zoomed out shot of the Pickles house. In this episode, the garage is on the left side of the house, opposite of the Deville's house. In later episodes, the garage is on the right side.
The Pickles family are very health-conscious, as showcased by the ingredients Stu uses for his tofu burgers: Loose Bruce Prune Juice, Diet Lemon, Ersatz Herbal Flavored Flakes, BBQ Lite, Just Say No salt Substitue, No Tears Imitation Onion, Meatless Miracle, Savory Seaweed, and Unsweetened Sugar.
