- Convinced that he's seen a new alter personality after the visit from Tara's parents and who may have destroyed Tiffany's mural, Max spends an anxious weekend trying contact Tara's therapist. Tara confronts Max and he has no choice but to tell her what he thinks he saw. The result however is for Alice to emerge. She also thinks she's pregnant. Interestingly, Alice does reveal a very specific relationship with the other alters, particularly when she tell's Max that that there seems to some type of hierarchy among them. But their joint visit to Dr. Ocean doesn't go very well. Meanwhile, Marshall is worried that Jason's pastor father may have realized the real reason shy he joined the group at school as they are preparing for the opening night to welcome the community to their Hell House. Also, Kate tries re-set her relationship with Gene at the restaurant, but the result isn't anything near what she was hoping for when he shows off his true colors to her and outright fires her.—garykmcd
- Open with Max repeatedly calling Dr. Ocean to try and move-up their appointment and discuss the new alter while "Tara is Tara." He ultimately promises on a message not to tell her.
Almost immediately, of course, Max tells Tara about the new alter and that he's talked about it with Dr. Ocean. He explains it is an animalistic alter: "Pure Id, I guess." Tara is so upset she throws up and almost instantly turns into Alice.
Alice comes downstairs and tells the rest of the family she's pregnant. The kids seem unfazed and Max tells her it's impossible because of Tara's IUD. Max asks Alice to go to the next appointment with Dr. Ocean but she refuses.
The head of Jason's church (and Jason's father), Pastor Maurio, tells Marshall he "gets" what he is doing at the church.
Gene grills the staff with new menu questions at a Barnaby's meeting. Kate seems disinterested and Gene makes a comment hinting at their having a romantic relationship.
Charmaine comes over to give Alice a pregnancy test.
In preparation for the performance Marshall and Jason are tasked with going to the grocery store to get some "abortion meat."
Kate complains to Gene about the way he's been acting around her. Though he hasn't told anyone, Kate thinks he wants people to know they're involved. When Kate tells him she wants to end the relationship Gene fires her.
While on the toilet Alice tells Charmaine her "bust line turned out well." An excited Alice sprints out the door and hands a test to Max, telling him "It's pink, it's pink, we're having a girl!" Charmaine tells Max that all the sticks are pink and that Alice/Tara is not pregnant. Max tells Charmaine about the meeting with Heidi and that there is a building at the boarding school which has the possible rapist's last name "all over it." Max feels guilty about having information he doesn't know what to do with.
While Alice works on a nursery Charmaine tells her how much Buck helped with the surgery. Kate comes in and tells them both she got fired.
Marshall and Jason buy seven pounds of liver from the meat counter. When the subject of canned okra comes up Marshall tells Jason how much he hates labels and that they are responsible for people not trying things they might love.
While giving Kate a makeover, Alice tells her how emotional and sensitive men are and that they feel more comfortable when women raise their voices an octave.
Alice tells Max that when the baby arrives the other alters will have to take a back seat to her, referring to Buck and T as "my charges." Max asks Alice whether there are any other alters and she changes the subject. Using her pregnancy as leverage Max gets her to agree to see Dr. Ocean.
Kate uses Alice's voice technique and apologizes to Gene. She asks for her job back.
In the session with Dr. Ocean Alice talks about the pregnancy and her dreams of a baby with Max's face on it. Afterward Max pops back into the office to complain that nothing got done. With Alice pressed up against the door, Dr. Ocean tells Max that Tara transitioned because she was scared he couldn't love anything as "out there" as the new alter and that Alice has invented the baby as a way to keep him. Dr. Ocean suggests Max get his own therapist.
Before the first Hell House Pastor Maurio takes Marshall aside again. Hitch tells a relieved Marshall he knows he hasn't yet accepted Christ as his personal savior.
Kate picks up an envelope that was dropped off at the house as Max and Alice walk through the Hell House. In the envelope was a video to Kate from Gene. Max and Alice watch Marshall portraying a homosexual burning in hell. In the video Gene reads a strange original poem "Until After Yesterday" and tells Kate he has put her back on the schedule. Kate seems bothered by video.
Alice has the kid playing Jesus in Hell House bless the baby. Afterward they argue about Max's questions about Tara and lack of interest in the baby. Alice says she heard Max found Heidi and that he has "gone and brought Gimmie out." When Max asks about Gimmie, Alice says "You listen to me. You have no idea, okay? You have no idea what you're playing with."
That night Max wakes up to find Alice crying in the the bathroom. She has had her period but thinks she has lost the baby. Max holds her and says, "I love you, Alice."
