The character named "Dolores Pasternak" (or "Miss Pasternak") was previously played by Missi Pyle in "A Bag Full Of Jawea" (s2e3), but she was replaced by Alicia Witt for this episode. The change was made to show the emotional change that Miss Pasternak went through after Charlie dumped and hurt her. When Miss Pasternak (Missi Pyle) was first introduced, she told Charlie she was a pole dancer in Reno before she became a teacher. Once Charlie broke her heart, she is shown to be a stripper again, this time portrayed by Alicia Witt.
When Charlie is running out of the church to get away from Miss Pasternak, he jumps over a collection basket on a stick. This mimics his running away from her at the school in "A Sack Of Jawea" (s2e3), when he jumps over the mop bucket.
In the scene where Charlie invites Miss Pasternak to stay in the guest room, Charlie erroneously calls her "Desiree" (her stripper name) instead of her actual first name, "Dolores".
Miss Pasternak tries to help Jake to God about halfway through the episode. In real life, Angus T. Jones has become a born-again Christian.
In the previous episode, Jake told Alan how hurt he was when Charlie dated his fifth grade teacher. So, in this episode, Alan shouldn't need to be reminded.
