- After a brief festival run through 2022, the film was significantly re-edited to its "final cut" version - the changes include the run time being 15 minutes shorter, significant alterations to the opening, and a major reshuffling of some scenes from the third act to the first. The reason cited for the changes was to shift the tone of the film from the more drama/romance feel of the theatrical cut to the thriller/horror tone of the final cut.
- Earlier drafts of the script featured a third housemate named Jackson, most of whom's plot functionality was put onto Peter in the final film. As Peter and Maggie were initially written as cousins (Maggie originally being a man named Artie), the film centered on the more awkward tension between Maggie and Jackson who did not know each other, while Peter was relegated to fewer scenes, showing up primarily in the third act climax.
- SPOILER: An alternate ending was written (but not shot) where Maggie, after killing both Jackson and Peter, decides to remain at the house and assume ownership of the cannibal business.
