Artie's "Guardian Angel" is a mannequin with a purple wig. Originally the character was supposed to be played by an actress, but after a disagreement over expectations, Eric decided that a more artistic approach was necessary for the role. So he replaced the actress with a mannequin.
Artie's apartment is the basement of an apartment building in St. George, Staten Island.
All of the scenes inside Artie's basement apartment were filmed in one week and one day.
Eric Norcross had always wanted to utilize the song "No Sense" as the theme for a movie, but never had the right project until he wrote Fractals. Once he realized what a perfect fit it would be, he called the songwriter, Eric Anderson, and asked for permission to adapt and cover it. Anderson gave him permission without stipulations, right over the phone.
