When the Japanese first attack Midway we see them destroy a number of planes both on the tarmac and in hangers. In reality, Midway radar had spotted the incoming raid and almost all of their planes were launched before the raiders arrived.
In the sequence showing the death of Commander Lindsey of Torpedo Squadron Six, we see a flaming plane fly by the deck of a ship. Just before the plane splashes into the sea we see another airplane sitting aboard the target ship with the distinctive star amid the stripes detail that U.S. planes wear rather than the red meatball pattern used by planes of Japan.
Mrs. Henry arrives at Los Angeles Union Station on July 21, 1942 and then is driven through Los Angeles where the camera sees the "Hollywood" sign in the background. The problem is that the sign should have read "Hollywoodland" - it didn't become "Hollywood" until 1949.
