- King Babar: [searching for clues at Zephir's malt shop] There aren't anymore clues to be found here.
- [learns on counter]
- King Babar: I must think; If I were a criminal, where would I go to hide out?
- [hears a distant ship's horn blowing]
- King Babar: Of course.
- [puts down his magnifying glass]
- King Babar: The waterfront.
- [heads off towards the waterfront]
- Uncle Arthur: [Arthur is placed in jail for the theft of Rataxes' statue] You've got to get me out of this!
- King Babar: I'm sorry, Arthur. You'll have to remain in custody until we can find the statue and return it to Rataxes.
- Uncle Arthur: But I'm innocent!
- King Babar: I believe you.
- Uncle Arthur: I found the statue at a bus stop!
- King Babar: That part I have a little trouble with.
- Uncle Arthur: I know my story sounds farfetched, but you're the king. You can release me!
- King Babar: Unfortunately, the evidence at this point is overwhelmingly against you, Arthur. And even the king cannot be above the law.
- Uncle Arthur: Yes of course. I understand. You can't show me special treatment. But what about Zephir? He could be in trouble!
- King Babar: We've got patrols crisscrossing the city at this very minute. Don't worry, Arthur. They'll find Zephir and the statue. We'll have you out of there in no time.
- [Babar and Pompadour walk out the jail]
- Pompadour: We hope.
