Will, Geordie, Friends and Family head for a restful holiday, but r and r is cut short when a body is found on the stage, Will convinces Geordie to look into things.
Along with Vera and Endeavour, I massively looked forward to the return of this, and like Vera, this didn't disappoint.
I loved the opening ten minutes, it was just fun, and after all that's happened in the world, it was nice to see the cast having a bit of holiday fun.
No real evidence of Covid restrictions having an effect here, it all looks very natural. Visually this was exceptional, from the camp and cars, to the wonderful outfits. The band was one of the best elements here.
More importantly the mystery itself, for a series opener, I would say it was ok, not a classic, but a good watch, the victim turned out to be a surprise, as was the killer.
The usual good set of characters, and some too notch acting, I particularly enjoyed seeing Rachel Stirling.
I see that it's an eight part series, I think there's plenty of time for it to hit form, and I'm sure it will, I thought it a decent series opener, a little bit style over substance, 6/10.
