Resembling Russell Howard’s bumpkin cousin, Seann Walsh is a panel show regular but don’t hold that against him. While there’s little groundbreaking or innovation to his act, Walsh’s affability and radiant normality, makes him an effortlessly engaging performer.
Marcus Brigstocke’s belittled Peter Kay for his ‘remembering things’ comedic style but observational comedy will always resonate more powerfully with audiences than Brigstocke’s left-leaning rants or the deconstructionist brilliance of Stewart Lee. So while many of Walsh’s gags grow from a ‘you know when…’ premise, each ends in full-bodied laughter.
This DVD special, filmed at the now peculiarly-named Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, maintains a jaunty pace, at odds with Walsh’s repeated claims of lethargy and poor fitness. He’s certainly derivative at times, and fans of Jim Gaffigan or Russell Brand’s Ponderland series will feel an irksome familiarity when Walsh touches on the embarrassment of buying toilet paper,...

Flamboyant British comedian-turned-actor Russell Brand will once again be hosting the MTV awards it has emerged. Brand is best known in the UK as the uniquely candid comic presenter of such hit programmes as “Big Brother’s Big Mouth” and “Ponderland”, but will be best known to our American cousins as outrageous rock star Aldous Snow in last year’s “Forgetting Sarah Marshall”.
The awards - which take place on September 13th - will be Brand’s second stint as the show’s presenter, as MTV saw ratings for the show reportedly increase 20% during Brand’s 2008 term in the role.
On Tuesday in a statement, the sometimes controversial comedian promised a clean show for this years awards:
“This year will be a controversy-free festival of love and discreet orgasms”
Now you know why he’s Britain’s best export!

British comedian Russell Brand plans to flee to Los Angeles to escape the furore surrounding his controversial prank calls to actor Andrew Sachs, according to reports.
Brand quit his job as a BBC radio presenter after outrage over a stunt in which he and fellow broadcaster Jonathan Ross recorded voicemail messages for Fawlty Towers star Sachs.
In the calls, the pair made lewd comments about Brand's fling with 78-year-old Sachs' granddaughter.
And the Forgetting Sarah Marshall funnyman is apparently keen to leave the U.K. when filming has wrapped on his TV show Ponderland, according to Britain's The Sun.
A source tells the newspaper, "He just wants to get on the next plane out of England - and get away from this mess.
"Russell rushed along the filming so he could get to L.A. as soon as possible."...
