- Olivia Benson: [after learning that Stabler and Eli were in an accident] But they're okay? Everyone is okay?
- Kathleen Stabler: Neither one of them are hurt, but my father is not okay.
- Olivia Benson: Okay, so why don't you take some deep breaths, Kathleen.
- Kathleen Stabler: He's not okay!
- Olivia Benson: Just tell me what you mean by that, honey?
- Kathleen Stabler: He has nightmares. Eli says he shouts in his sleep and he's...
- Olivia Benson: Jumpy?
- Kathleen Stabler: Yes. You've seen it right?
- Olivia Benson: Have you talked to him about it?
- Kathleen Stabler: I tried to. We all have tried to. He won't talk to us. He won't open up. I mean, I've tried to ell him to get some treatment for..
- Olivia Benson: PTSD?
- Kathleen Stabler: That's what I said. And Mau' says I'm not qualified to diagnose him. I don't want to diagnose him. I just..
- Kathleen Stabler: [takes Benson's hand]
- Kathleen Stabler: [pleadingly] We need your help, Olivia.
- Olivia Benson: Okay, honey. And what is it you think that I can do?
- Kathleen Stabler: Maureen and I want to have an intervention.
- Olivia Benson: The whole family. Eli?
- Kathleen Stabler: All five of us. Eli wants to be there, but it won't work unless you're part of it.
- Kathleen Stabler: This is an intervention.
- Detective Elliot Stabler: Uh-huh. Yeah. That's what I thought. An intervention. Okay. And what are we intervening on?
- Olivia Benson: About what you and I discussed.
- Detective Elliot Stabler: What you and I discussed in private?
- Olivia Benson: Elliot, It's not a secret.
- Detective Elliot Stabler: Not anymore.
- Kathleen Stabler: I went to Olivia myself to ask for her help.
- Eli Stabler: No one here thinks you're an addict.
- Detective Elliot Stabler: Thank you, Eli. I appreciate that. What does everyone think?
- Dickie Stabler: You need help Dad.
- Olivia Benson: Elliot, I'm here because your family is worried about you.
- Detective Elliot Stabler: I didn't ask you to be here.
- Olivia Benson: [continues] They're worried about you because of all the things that we have witnessed.
- [Elliot jerks his head to the side]
- Eli Stabler: Like that. You do that all the time.
- Olivia Benson: And they're worried about you, Elliot. Because they care about you. So, do you think you can just sit down right now and just listen to everyone
- Detective Elliot Stabler: No, I really don't think I can. You should talk to my superior, Ayanna Bell. She's a sergeant and if there were any problems, she would recognize it.
- Olivia Benson: Eliot, tell us what you need.
- Detective Elliot Stabler: I love you
- [long silence as Benson stares at him, seemingly in disbelief. Stabler seems to realize what he just said, then starts to become more emotional]
- Detective Elliot Stabler: I love all of you... And I-I-Yeah, I don't think I can do this.
- Olivia Benson: Listen to me. Listen. Everyone here in this room recognizes that something's not right. Everyone but you.
- Detective Elliot Stabler: Yeah, I'm drowning. How's that for recognition?
- Olivia Benson: So, take our hand. Grab on to us.
- Detective Elliot Stabler: I know you're trying to help. I know you're all just trying to help and reaching out but all you're doing is pushing me further under. It's like a weight that is dragging me down.
- [Stabler leaves]
