You will notice that in the scene at the dining table at the Tripathi's house, none of the characters are actually eating. This was because Akhandanand, Bauji, and Munna had already done a lot of heavy eating for multiple rehearsals and actual scenes that had been shot before this particular one on the same set. It was decided that this particular scene can be modified a bit and played out without the actors having to actually eat in the scene.
This Munna-Sharad confrontation scene was shot at a haveli (mansion) in Barabanki, outside of Lucknow. This turned out to be a challenging day of shoot for the entire filming crew because of cloudy weather throughout the day. The crew had to keep switching between interior scenes and the exterior confrontation scene, depending on when there was cloud cover and when the sun would come out.
Ali Fazal (Guddu) spent an extensive amount of time prior to the commencement of filming to make his character's limp look authentic. He practiced learning to walk with his knee immobilized in a brace and with the aid of crutches for weeks before the shoot began. He would remain in character and continue to walk using the crutches even during the breaks and setup changes while filming.
The receptionist in the scene at the Chief Minister's office is played by the production manager from the team, Roma Kandpal.
One of Munna's goons is supposed to be a character named 'Stained Teeth Man' in the script. He is supposed to have stained teeth from years of chewing tobacco. Multiple sets of specifically designed fake dentures were created for the actor, Jeetendra Verma.
