Very Good Intentions, Over-Crowded Execution
MrsTheFrog2 March 2021
I love that the intention of the writers was to diverge from the usual episode in order to focus on survivors and rehabilitation (or lack thereof). I do think, however, that the episode would have been better served if they had stuck to just one (or even two) rather than 4 storylines in the one show.

The only survivor story I was able to get invested in was the one with the two sisters, and this speaks directly to the power of the two actresses. If the show had been their story, plus the thing with Kat's cousin, or the sisters plus the parolee and victim story, I think the episode would have been paced much better. Too much going on made for lack of character investment.

That having been said, great casting on Kat's cousin. Wonderful work with the new sets for the prison scenes. And Fin's, "Then don't do anything," line - highly enjoyable. I hope they revisit survivor healing in a more hyperfocused way, in future.

Good episode but Kat....

Warning: Spoilers
Kat just gets on my nerves. She's too impulsive and despite hints and outright sit-down looks and commands from Olivia, she doesn't get the hint that she needs to work on her subtlety game. Her mouth is going to her her or someone else hurt. Maybe that's what the writers are building for.

The sisters were great though as was Nora. Poor Kay's cousin is delusional though if she thinks that guy is going to come within 10 feet of her.

Warning: Spoilers
Nothing bad about this episode, but just one that you instantly forget when it is over. Nothing really special happened here.

When to forgive...
JFerg241 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
If it's one constant that we see in watching SVU, it's that there's always a victim. We rarely see what happens to these victims years later, though. This is a great episode for that. We see three stories: one of two sisters who survived a kidnap/rape 20 years ago, one of a woman whose rapist from 7 years ago is seeking parole, and one who was caught in a date gone bad but isn't sure about pressing charges (and in fact still likes the guy. A lot). How each scenario plays out shows the power of forgiveness, and of not letting the perp dominate their life as a result.

Something we can all embrace.

Boring
MovieFreak86-415-91253126 February 2021
A couple of seasons ago I watched an episode that seemed slower and boring. Since then I have noticed 2 or 3 more episodes that also have seemed slower, and more boring then other episodes. I am saying this because this is another one of those episodes.

When I see a episode like this one, it makes me think that they are starting to have problems finding new and good ideas for episodes. I was surprised last season when SVU was renewed for season 22, and somehow I was even more surprised to hear that it was also renewed for a 23rd and 24th season. If more episodes like this one keep happening it may not make it to a 25th. I may not even make it to the end of the 24th.

Not the best episode but it was fine.

First of all, Kat is the most annoying character this show has ever had.

I loved and appreciated the story of the sisters recovery and there unofficial therapy session with Rollins.

Useless episode
cmmsobral29 July 2021
I simply hate this kind of episodes, full of bla bla bla, but empty of detective work and prossecution work. See that work that's why I see this show, not to listening 45 minutes of characters speaking about their sorrows. I hope that I won't see any more episodes like this until the end of Season.
