- TriviaThe recent military induction of Elvis Presley prompted this episode in which Randy Sparks portrays Himself, a singer promoted to stardom by San Fernando Red (Red Skelton). Then Johnny receives a draft notice. San Fernando, having gambled away thousands of dollars of royalty checks, hopes to record Johnny's final song before induction by sneaking into an officer's dance at which Johnny will perform to record the song. Red portrays British General Bradford T. Beaverbottom to gain access to the dance, where he meets other US and British military officers. When it comes time for his last song, Randy acknowledges their allies by whistling 'The Colonel Bogey March' theme from 'The Bridge on the River Kwai' and thus thwarts Red's scheme to record a song to be released to his fans.
