Written by Johnny Speight. Starring Eric Sykes as the club secretary. Both men were avid golfers and wanted to poke fun of the innate chauvinism of golf clubs in the leafy suburbs.

Although the one on the show is near the council estate. George Brady, the club captain (Garfield Morgan) is less than impressed that council house residents are allowed into the club, even as workers.

The opening scene is the golfers at shock as someone has replaced the club flag with a Nazi one. They presume it was someone who was rejected rather than accepted.

Miranda, the female club captain complains about women getting treated as second class citizens, they can only play after 1.30 pm. Foreigners are treated better, but the secretary reminds her that the golf club has no foreigners as members.

The crux of the episode is what to do about Johnson (Ken Campbell.) He's had his Johnson removed and is now Miss Johnson, the club wants to thrown him out. The female captain does not want Johnson ogling at the women in the changing rooms.

Although made in 1989, the issue of trans people has become topical mainly due to the agitation by anti trans groups. Speight who had a history of highlighting racism in shows such as Till Death Do Us Part really took the easy way out. Johnson is basically a man with bushy eyebrows in a dress and heavy makeup.

Despite the efforts of the cast, the script was never funny in the first place and there was no one in the golf club that was a sympathetic character.
